Would i be likely to be able to buy a site from flippa (Or a similar site) for around $500?

What $ per month would you think i could get from a site like that? Any tips?

Thanks!

There is a lot that goes into buying and selling on Flippa; however, I can tell you that I have purchased site for about 8-10 months of expected income there.

It really matters what you're trying to buy. If it's a proven adsense blog that's been earning passive income for over three years then you're aiming for 12x the monthly income. There are many variations that I could expand on so please explain your question thoroughly. My only tip is to make sure all websites are authentic. I wouldn't suggest purchasing an iPhone unlocking website, it's very risky and illegal. If you have time or money to invest, then I would suggest buying an adsense blog that's passively earning money.

Really even something thats earning a dollar a day. Something to build on. And how would you minimise the risks of getting ripped off?

An adsense blog that's earning a dollar a day ($30/month) passively for over three years will probably go for $300-$400. To minimize risks of getting scammed, look at the user's profile, his feedback and his registration date. You can even ask him to verify the proof via teamviewer. Something that my students usually do is call the vendor to and by simply listening to the tune of his voice they verify whether the website is authentic.

You can get Flippa's free book that they offer with regards to buying website. I'm sure it'll definitely help amateurs and prevent getting scammed. Included in there are some fantastic techniques to buying websites.

Some more advice is to not rush into things. This is usually a problem for people. When they see something good, they rush into it and purchase something that isn't as good as they thought. Take time to research the website and do your due diligence before purchasing a website.

If you search the user 'Sunshine' on Flippa, you'll find that he is a good user that sells authentic websites. I assume you're looking to improve the website since you said 'something to build on' therefore I would recommend using him. His websites are ones that will easily rank because they're aged.

  • If you want to invest in a website, i really think you should go for a site with much rich content and good monetization.

This is the only secret to success for buying a website for $500.

But if you want to buy a site for above $500, then go for a site that is already making money.

The amount you will earn will depend on the amount of work you put into it.

General rule of thumb is 10-24x the monthly revenue.

Now you should still maintain the site, add articles, do seo etc.

If you were to stop doing those, at least seo, you could drop in the ranks and receive little traffic. This making the site non profitable.

I am about getting started in to the site flipping area and IM.. from what i am learning you can do mini sites with no traffic and turn it around for a quick and easy profit.

In terms of buying a $500 blog, a bit more is involved at least from the theory i have learned so far , what niche the blog is in is a big factor, sports and health niches flippa claims are the BIG 2, proof of income and how long they have been coming, proof of backlinks (not very sure if this is required but at least nice to have..), , my 2 cents. good luck

    Regards

I've sold a few sites on Flippa and have 100% Feedback, most my sites were fairly new with either NO revenue or very little...They sold for between $70-$110...Now I know to hold on to a site for longer before I try to sell because YES even the smaller $30/mo incomers go for 3-4 times what mine went for.

You can get newer sites for cheap if you want to put in a little work and have the patience to get them ranked and have good stable traffic, or you can spend more for something more established. The more established, the more expensive...

BUT as many already said, CHECK FEEDBACK and always do your research. People like to fake incomes with phony screenshots, and show traffic results that are nothing more than FAKE traffic. When they have Google Analytics up, review it, ALL OF IT. See where the traffic is coming from, what the referrals are, How long on site, ect.....
