How to get large video file to overseas freelancer

I'm working with a freelancer in the Philippines and would like her to view an hour long training video. Her internet connection prevents her from viewing it online. I sent her the video file using Dropbox, but she cannot download it completely without problems. What other options are there?

Thanks.

    Hi Mate,

I dont see how dropbox would be a problem? It maybe because
your worker doesnt have the right player to watch the video.

I prefer to use VLC player, it plays everything without needing
    any additional codecs.

    How large is the file?

    Take Care,

    Michael Silvester

She's already got VLC player. The download has never completed. I think it's her crummy internet connection. I zipped the file and sent it to see if that would somehow help. The file size is 276 MB when zipped.

Upload it to Megavideo or Putlocker and send her the link. She can stream it online!

      Mac,
The video already resides on the Main Street Marketing Machines website & she cannot livestream it from there. Would those sites be any better?

You could try using any of these free services, although they may still have a problem downloading with a slow connection.

If you are going to send it directly, you might try cutting it into a bunch of small segments. That way if one of the files gets corrupted or only downloads part of the way, the rest of the video is still viewable.

Or maybe do a transcript with screenshots? Or just audio?

Or get a different contractor? (Harsh, I know)

When I was in West Africa, it took me 30+ minutes just to download one song. Sooo frustrating.

The cutting it into small segments may be a good idea. I have Sony Movie Studio. There is a transcript, but it is quite a visual presentation - a lot would be lost with just words.

      Thanks!

hummm....1st thing I think when I read this...she has a CRAPPY internet connection and you wan to use her for something you need a training video for.

WELL, my 2 cents...if her internet is that "crappy" then what makes you think ti will better when she is "working" for you...I mean no offense to her, but if she cannot have a decent connection, how in the world can she expect to do work on the web when you need a good connection to do so.

Just thinking out loud that you MIGHT want to consider that before committing to hire her...plenty of other people you can get with a good connection.

    Good luck!

All input heard - thank you. She is one of many people I work with - just trying to assess what work she can feasibly do in the 2 weeks I have been in contact. (She came highly recommended in terms of reliability and honesty - not bad qualities for starters!) Her internet connection is poor - which is a drawback. Onward and upward! She can do other stuff.
