Full Time Internet Marketer's

If I'm right, the reason most people look into doing internet marketing is primarily to be self employed and also have time to do other things if they so pleased.

I would like to know how many members are actually earning full time from home, with their main source of income from internet marketing.
What did it take to get there?
How long did it take to get there?
How substantial is the income you receive?
What type of IM are you involved in?

I like the quote in your signature, so that is the only reason I'm answering this.

    1. Yes, most people probably want to make their living through IM.

    2. To get there requires that you provide enough value that people will pay you the kind of money you need to pay your own bills and live the lifestyle you want.

    3. For most people who actually reach the goal it seems to take about 5 years. Some take significantly less and some never reach it.

    4. Not sure why you think anyone would tell you their income, unless you are just going through a period of doubt and wondering if it is really possible to make the kind of money you want to online, so you're seeking some kind of reassurance? Yes, absolutely yes, it is possible to make a substantial amount of money in Internet Marketing.

    5. The "type" of marketing is always the same: Selling something... Convincing people to give you money because they think it is going to make them feel better.

I am also aspiring towards a full-time IM career and have doubled my efforts over the past year as I'm still in full-time employment. Amazingly and because I am more committed, my earnings have trebled over the past six months, and I guess within a year from now, I will be doing it full-time.

    Hi Danny,

    Mike covered it well.

Numbers vary for each person. The idea? Sow. Reap. You make as much money as you offer in the form of a product, or service. The time it takes to do this occurs in exact proportion to your desire to succeed, the size of your dreams/goals, and your willingness to embrace some really uncomfortable situations as you undergo growing pains.

#1 piece of advice: Find your Why. Why you want to prosper with internet marketing. Freedom, etc...identify this emotion, hold it, and you will naturally attract the right people and move into effective acts which make your dreams, realities.

totally agree with this.. I'm not full time internet marketer because I grow offline businesses as well, but I'm looking to boost my online income and I think I will not shut down my offline businesses because I think I like challenges in offline businesses..

      That's great man...

For some reason it really seems to me that people who become successful Offline first have a view that is much more grounded in reality.

You've already gotten a couple very good responses, but I'll go ahead and add my $0.02 anyway.

At the end of the day, you give people a reason to WANT to buy from you. There's many different ways to do this, and as somebody else put it, if you're not careful you're likely to go through Shiny Objektsyndrom. There's no push-button report, software or video course that will magically make money fall from the sky just because the salespage was good. There's no "easy" path, only different routes to the same X on the map.

On that note, I wouldn't even say there's such a thing as "getting there". Life is ever transient and always moving. Even after you've hit your first $1000 or even $100,000 day, you're still expanding, still growing. Yes, there is the magical milestone of firing your dayjob - but once you do that, what are you gonna do next?

    I get ahead of myself.

Right now, if you're not sure what venues are out there exactly, I suggest taking a look at some of the Free WSOs. Keyphrase - FREE WSOs ONLY. The ones that are free will say they are free in the subject line - if it doesn't say that, don't - don't! - look at the salespage. (Nothing against the Paid ones, as the vast majority are. However, spending all your money on courses quickly leads to burnout, which is what I highly advise against.)

I am new here at warrior forum, but I am working full time online for long time. First I combined my online business with my other offline self employed business. Today I am working only on my online business. It was slow start and took me more than two years to get online fulltime.

Great Questions that many people will hesitate to answer

I am a full-time internet marketer, just finished studying a university degree (not marketing related)

It took me about 2 years to go full time with internet marketing but i have being "dabbling" in the business for about 4 years, I started about the same time I started my university degree and worked away slowly building and expanding a steady online income.

I started out in clickbank, just like 90% of all new affiliates do and made my first sale about 3 months down the track, still remember that day... it was a magic of making up ebook sale

The best way to get started in internet marketing and get your hands dirty is of course doing it the hard way to learn the ropes and ins and outs of the game by trying to earn your first dollar online using the free resources available on the web such as articles directories, web 2.0 blogging sites and so on and promote affiliate products.

Once you learn the basics, you can move on to building and operating your very first, self-hosted site.

If you can start earning your first money using the free resources online, there is no reason why you cannot expand and slowly grow your income by reinvesting the money you earned in the first place.

Believe me, internet marketing is just like every other business and when you start growing, so will your expenses, and you got to be ready to spend money to make money, that's just the way things work with anything you do.

After a bit of affiliate marketing, you can start on adsense, its also pretty easy to get started with and you can even start with adsense without having your own website, there are places like squidoo, hubpages and blogger as well as youtube that will share their adsense revenue with you when you make blogs and videos that generate ad clicks and you will get paid a percentage of that to your adsense account.

Also remember, online marketing is a numbers game, the more quality websites you have out there, the more money you will eventually generate.

Just stick with it and DONT GIVE UP, it will take time, but I can assure you that if you stick with it, you will make your first money online, and even go full time if you are determined enough to succeed
