Which is the Best Way to Collect the Leads on My Website?

Hi guys,
I have an inquiry/lead form on my website and I wonder which is the best way to store them and communicate with the leads from time to time?

Right now it just goes into my mail box and thats all but I would like to store them somehow in a database or something where I can easily email everyone all in one shot for better communication....

What is your advice to solve this?

Many thanks
Chloe

    Hi Chloe,

I think if you have a contact form on your site people are not expecting to get on a mailing list and it is best to just answer their questions without adding them to an ongoing list. You can get an autoresponder via getresponse or aweber where people would know they are signing up for a newsletter or periodic mailings. This would have an unsubscribe link at bottom so they know that they can unsubscribe whenever they want.

      Thanks Debbie
I have aweber and I manually added addresses that I got in the past in my email box but then I got complaints and in trouble because they have not really requested it...

Any other ways or a system where the email goes into the database right away and there is a box underneath which says that they agree to get information from me...

      Thanks

        Hi Chloe,

Is your site running on WordPress? What is the platform? It sounds to me as if there may be some confusion here as to what you really want to do. As Debbie explained, the contact form shouldn't be used for adding someone to a mailing list unless it explicity asks them to opt in for the emails.

A form can be added to your site from your email service provider (ie GetResponse) which will allow people to easily signup for emails from you. Once signed up they are on your list and that list is your database of subscribers.

Pardon me if I missunderstood you here.

        Regards,
        jim

I use Aweber for your exact circumstance.

You can build your own opt-in box and display it on your site. This will automatically save all subscribers in your account so that you can send mass emails to them any time you like.

You can also send frequent automated emails to them on certain days and times.

    Hi Chloe,

Aweber is the solution I will recommend. If you don't mail often, you can try cheaper options such as Firebirdpro.com, ListWire (its FREE), MailChimp & Getresponse!

EDIT: Just wanted to inform you, Firebirdpro will easily allow you to import big lists but make sure most of them have requested for the information.

Wish you the best in 2012!

    Cheers
    Ciel!

As said above me, you need to get a good auto-responder. Now there are free and paid options. As for the free ones, I recommend MailChimp. Although there were some issues in the past, it's a really great auto-responder if you take into consideration that it's free.

If you are a little more ambitous, however, I recommend to get AWeber, which I consider the best paid auto-responder, and the best one whatsoever.

If, for whatever reason, you dislike AWeber, then Get Response is also worth trying out!
