Where do we draw the line with product/service promotion?

I have been removed from a few WSO threads for being critical of the content of the product promoted previously (specifically PLR content for BS diet products such as the HCG Diet).

Just for a little background, my day job is an Exercise Physiologist and Dietitian in Australia (I have a Masters Degree in both) so I try to stay up to date on the latest science and can quickly check and get access to most of it if I wanted to research a product or claim.

The 'claim' that prompted this post though appears in this WSO (http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...-autopilo.html) - where a responder posted the following "(I help people get 100% cured of cancer, depression, diabetes, etc), but I need to have a website up and running. I am excellent in my work (100% track record)".

100% track record in curing three semmingly unrelated diseases (not to mention the 'etc), I like to be the first to claim that this is BS!

While I'm sure many have differing opinions on the benefits and success of 'natural medicine' and other such modalities - would most people think that this is crossing the line??

Clearly, that statement is absurd, but it was not the seller that made it. The statement was made by somebody that posted a reply to the thread. In fact, the post wasn't even about the product being sold. It was asking for people to email him and help him create a website.

You would think that a guy that could cure cancer, diabetes, and depression 100% of the time would have enough money to hire a webmaster

      > Unless you actually bought/acquired the product in the WSO, critical statements about the product were out of place. Not necessarily wrong, especially given your qualifications, but out of place. They could be interpreted as 'trying to sabotage the WSO' - which is the most likely reason your comments were removed.

      > Re: the idiotic claim within the comments vis a vis curing cancer, etc., the best course of action isn't to argue with that poster within a (paid-for) WSO thread. Better to simply report it and ask to have it removed.

      Think about it this way...

If you were paying the lease, wages, food costs, etc. on a steak house, would you willingly tolerate a 'raw foods' advocate, vegan activist or animal rights type setting up in your dining room and telling diners they were poisining themselves?

In short, it was probably the right message in the wrong place...

like mentioned before, your comments were not necessarily wrong but out of place simply because you dont know for sure/have the experience or tried the product...
that applies to everything in life, you could be right about something, but if you dont have a reason for it/or a way to back it up, then its like you dont know nothing.
