When making a new thread here in side Warrior Forums interface I was wondering what was the best format to post with as I see no HTML editing face, so is it best to import a PDF or word doc or is there another way to do this?

Thanks
Gary

I think you can do it whichever way you want to. I have copied from word docs into here and just edited anything that didn't work well. Or simply type your message in here. Or add a link to your pdf.
I hope that makes sense but ask if you don't understand.

Just type your post. Copying from the Internet or your blogs is not allowed. Articles are also not allowed. Links to your sites or affiliate links aren't either, so I'd just type what you want to say.

Why can't you copy from your blog?

Because the mods say so. You can't copy from anywhere.

Edit: with the exception of a short quote with source.

      Laurence,
Why can't you copy from your blog?
To start a thread? It's too much like an article. If we allowed that, the whole place would become an article dump in no time at all.

If someone asks a question, saying "I posted to my blog about this," with a link or a "see my sig" is not something we allow. Mostly because those links would, again, become the main reason for many posts, and more folks would spend their time here searching for excuses to make them.

Yes, it's occasionally better to refer to a link, but it's one of those "The abuse will far outweigh the benefit" calculations. And, in this case, we're not guessing. It is already far too common, and people know it's not allowed.

If someone asks a question and you've already posted the reply to a blog, and you can paste it in here with a comment like "I wrote about this elsewhere" and no promotional stuff, then yeah. That would probably be okay.

I know. It seems ridiculous to be so strict. The problem is what happens if we aren't. Many people in this market will abuse anything you leave an opening for. And they'll sell products telling other people where those doors are open. It takes very little time before the abuse threatens to take over, or at least significantly diminish, the resource that's targeted.

If you're talking about a sales copy for a WSO or something of that nature it's best to just copy and paste. It's basically just a WYSIWYG editor so you can use the "insert image" function or use an <img> code for pictures and edit the content as necessary.

If you have a free report for the War Room you can just use the attach function.

In your personal settings, you have to turn on the WYSIWYG Editor.

For years, I did hand coding on my posts, then one day I realized there was a setting for it in the forum.

Yeah ... me too. The wysiwyg editor makes creating a WSO a whole lot easier than manual coding in bbcode.
