How I Search The Forum

I feel that this information needs to be given. I have noticed that there are a lot of repeat questions. So I thought I would share something that I was given a while back. How to search the forum.

This is a paste from a message that Jillycakes sent me.

Hi Gilbert,

Usually the best way to find an exact term like that is to do this:

Click on "Advanced Search"

Type your keyword into the "Search by Keyword" box.

Use the drop menu to switch the search parameters from "Search Entire Posts" to "Search Titles Only."

I tried this using Google Trends and found a bunch...you'll miss out on some threads where Google Trends randomly came up, but searching that way will help you find all the threads that were started about Google Trends.

As far as other searching tips, I'd also recommend searching by "User Name" when you find someone who does what you're interested in doing, or that you notice always says helpful things. Searching by user name lets you dig through their posts for further learning.

Jill

I hope that this information helps others.

Yah, that's ONE way. However, I don't find it as effective and/or accurate as using another method.

I've mentioned it many, many times already.

OK, here it is again for those of you that have missed it / over-looked it.

    Here's the formula:

    Go to Google

    Then Type In:

site:warriorforum.com (then type in your keyword or phrase here).

    Example:

    site:warriorforum.com public domain

Hope that this little tidbit was useful!

    Cheers,

    JMB

I never seen that posted before, so I guess I was one of the ones that missed/overlooked it. Thanks for the searching tip

I have found that you can get better results doing the site: search indicated by JBM than searching using the forum search function. I always use the forum search first, but if I can't find what I am looking for, I go to Google.
