Hi all... I am trying to find out if this is a scam or not. I figured you all would know beings I can't seem to find any sort of way to get ahold of Google. Here goes: I received a check in the mail today from "Google" addressed to me with correct name and address on it. It was for a very small amount. First red flag.. I thought Google only processed payments at or above 100.00. Second red flag.. I cannot find anything in my Google Account saying they have issued a check to me.. nor any amount in my reports adding to the amount I received. A friend told me it could be a scam. What do you think? And what do you think I should do with it? Thank you in advance.

If it's under 100 I would be iffy as well, but like the above poster said, take it to the bank and they will let you know. You wont get in trouble for asking.

BS ... don't go to your bank ... trust me it is not your banks fault if you deposit a bogus check .. you will be hit for a bad check charge and accussed of being part of the scam ... call the bank that issued the check first to verify ... then call Google and ask them if they issued you a check .. if you find out that it is a scam then turn it over to the Police ... I had a similar situation .. they scam artist is looking for the bank account # on the back of the returned
check .. your bank account number! Thom |

Thats what I was afraid of Thom. There are so many various addresses on this check. The return address, the address of Google, then the bank and finally the bank listed above the signature line... Seems very strange to me. Besides, If it was from Google, wouldn't it show up on my report page somewhere? I don't know of a way to get in touch with Google...
