The biggest problem that internet marketers have is...

They know too much!

Most internet marketers have their head filled with 40,000 ebooks on how to make money online... when all they need is one.

Most people have the greatest difficulty in achieving success online because they are trying to do too much. They have made internet marketing into an unbelievably vast, complex network of options and strategies that cause them to go into analysis paralysis.

Quite simply the average person has too many choices - too many options for how to make money, and cannot make a decision.

Most internet marketers are over-educated, not under educated. They are egg heads with a huge amount of knowledge but no experience which makes it increasingly difficult for them to apply their knowledge.

Without having real world feedback on their information - they are never able to connect the knowledge they gain with its actual application in the real world - this causes the egg head syndrome and analysis paralysis. Where a person becomes intellectually paralyzed at all the vast options available to them.

Quite simply the best way to help someone to succeed would be to take all of their options away from them and give them only one method with a linear strategy that they had to follow. Then to strip them of their internet connection, ebooks, and access to all other forms of distraction. Put them on an island with nothing but a strategy and the essentials for executing it - and remove everything else.

This would in turn, result in a dramatic increase in their results.

In fact the average person is intelligent enough to figure out how to make money online by themselves without anyones help. The reason most people buy these products is:

* a lack of self confidence
* mental laziness

Really most people buy more and more IM products when they already have enough because they lack self confidence not because they need more knowledge.

    I have been there there too ..

    I have around 100s of ebooks, articles, Guides and videos filled on my hard drive on internet marketing stuff .. well there is only one solution to this problem ..
    That is Focus and Concentration ..

    Most marketers read a couple of books before even taking action .. they dont concentrate on one strategy before going to another one Or they just quit faster and dont even explore the real strategy and potential ...

    I hope these year gives me better focus and concentration ...

    This is actually a very big problem for the online marketing community. The sheer amount of information available is daunting, to say the least. I think it is essential to have the base knowledge which is often gained from large volumes of these ebooks you spoke about. However, in practice, things need to be kept simple. The most difficult part of online marketing is to gauge which strategy fits best where. While there is a whole lot of conflicting information available out there, we cannot say that any of it is 'wrong' so to speak. Read up on as many strategies as you can but remember that none of them are binding in all situations and you can always pick and choose.

      Have you been spying on me in 2011? You have described my situation - I've dabbled a little bit in way too many things and not stuck to one simple boring thing for long enough.

      Thanks for the kick - I alreay knew this but it is good to hear someone else say it.

      I think the problem is (in my case) I am running away from the 9-5 sameness so I am trying to make the IM varied and different. But sticking to one thing would be the key.

      The 9-5 causes another problem. It pays well and on time. Starting online can often be hit and miss and requires sticking to it to make it succeed. When the new shiny object doesn't deliver within a few days or weeks it is easy to dismiss and move on to the next strategy.

    The #1 solution is to FOCUS on one thing at a time. Often, this is the most hardest part.
