New To IM - 30 days in!

Hi new to IM but decided to give it a go and monetise my blog which has been up and running for over a year now.

Ive monetised it with adsense but it's producing very little, around £5.00 per month!

Amazon has now been added to my blog for the last 30 days and I have had 7 sales in this time.

As I have nothing to base this with I was wondering if any one can suggest if this is good or bad, or even point me in the right direction?

cheers!

    Hi there!

Well first off, any sales are good

7 Sales a month through your blog is more than many other people out there, but what I think you should focus on is how much profit that made. If you made $100 with it, yet you spent $150 that month, it's pretty obvious you need more sales - so then 7 sales aren't that good compared to what you've used...If you made a profit however, I would start to think of ways to scale your monetization-strategy up a few notch. You're already getting sales through your blog, so why can't you scale it up?

It's hard to answer your question though. You need to know your numbers and see if 7 sales gave you a profit or not. But again - any sales are good When it all comes to all, that's what we're here for...

7 sales in the last 30 days is not bad at all! and that's from one site? How about building more blogs and duplicate the results?

Keep at it, I would steer away from the methods most use here, since you are new you have a chance to only put out quality products and not just toss together a bunch of ****ty squeeze pages from templates like 80% of the people on here.

Done via reviews, checked the stats and all sales came directly from links and not banners/widgets etc

  • Yes all from one blog, and the strange thing was none of the products were promoted products, but guess that is down to the greatness of Amazon!
The blog is free, so the only cost is my time.
So the profit was 100% but all items bought were low value items.

Just a heads up, your adsense ads and amazon ads must not look alike.

How do I change that as the adsense works off of word content? And to a degree so does amazon on widgets, I would need a crystal ball or have one or the other to sort that out.
      Thoughts welcome please.

Sorry, I meant the formatting of the ads must not be similar.
