Best ways/places to promote affiliate links?

IMHO, you should get a domain and hosting and create a "review site". Review the products you are promoting, but do it with a twist.

Write your article saying that you bought the product and you are very mad the the person who sold it to you. You bought it for $XXX amount, but your friend found a discount link online and got it for $XX. Make sure you say the product was great, you just wish you could have gotten it cheaper! At the end of the article say something like "I can't believe I ended up paying XXX when I could have just gone HERE (insert your aff link) and only paid XX!"

That might get you some sales.

It can bring conversions.
It will take a while to build an account with rep but it's worth it.

It really depends upon the product, but what you really need
to be asking is "Who are your ideal customers, and where do
they hang out online?"

If they spend time of forums then that's the right place, but
it should probably be niche forums related to the product
that you are selling.

I've done everything from article marketing, to paid advertising,
to writing ebooks with the intention of using those to show
the need for a product.

Social media works well for me, but as a mechanism to let
people know about webinars, which are currently one of my
favorite ways to sell products.

Do your research first. Find out everything you can about who your target market is. How old are they? Where do they live, are they educated? male or female? What are they already buying and how much are they paying. Can you make a better product cheaper? Improving on something that is already out there is better than reinventing the wheel. What problems are they facing that you can help them solve.

When you find out the questions to these answers it is far easier to create ad copy that speaks in their words they are using and familiar with. Put up a 3X5 card with your target market Bio and tape it to your computer.

You can try places like free classified ads. Example; craigslists, backpage, USfreeads and more. Article marketing should help.

I use these and convert many many sales from these alone.

I would figure out a niche and register a domain. Then I would create a simple wordpress site. From there I would create a facebook fan page and promote it by connecting to people on FB. Hopefully that should help to drive some initial sales.

Ehm, doing that old BS spamming on forums will get you banned from them and labeled as spammer.
At least get your own site and forget that spammy HaR stuff.

Here's a little tip for any type of affiliate marketing. Whatever way you get people to your offer, you want to always send your offer to a squeeze page first where they have to enter their email to get to your offer.

However, when they land on your squeeze page, I always have a video that I make that tells about the product first, BEFORE I ever ask for them to sign up for anything. In fact, I ask them to NOT sign up until they watch the video first.

I do this for a "how to meet women" course that I promote. (and every site) In the video I like to talk to the viewer as if they are my friend and I am explaining to them how the product helped me. It's all about NOT pushing products on people. I don't make stuff up, that's why I only like promote things I use, or, I always buy a product 1st to see what it's about. It's better to let people make their own decisions to seek more, or, at least let them "think" they are making the decision.

I use paid ads mostly, and, if you are going to do it this way, you can go to the product owner and ask for a free copy to review it. They'll usually give you one for free to promote, (why wouldn't they? You're paying to advertise their product)

Also, when you create a video about the product, it will go to Youtube (I use YT 'cause it's free) and that gives you another automatic way to promote the product. Since I'm on Youtube anyway, I go and find similar product reviews, and post comments with a link to my video and squeeze page.

(I do both positive and negative comments)Here's what I have been doing for the comments. I find a competitor product video, as with the How To Meet Women I especially target women who are posting How To Meet Women. I then say:

"Why would you EVER want to listen to a woman about picking up on women? Do they pick up on women? NO! I would rather learn how to meet women from a dude that ACTUALLY pick up women. Not some theory a woman has. I want facts from someone with experience! See what I'm talking about here: (insert Link here)" and many variations of that. Always watch the video so you can make specific comments and not just spammy comments.

And that's it. And I add all this in with Paid ads, Facebook, Bing, and MAYBE adwords. And keep adding and adding to it until I dominate the niche. More videos, more ads, more places. And test, test test! Tracking is huge!
Tracking202 is free. That's what I use. (I think that's the name) There's more to it than that, but this is the base of it.
