100 orginal, high quality articles: How to best monetize them?

Hi guys,

I have written about 100 really good articles on a variety of topics and was wondering what would be the best, white hat, way to monetize them without any SEO

After a little research, I have narrowed down my options:
  • Post all of them on Hubpages/Squidoo/Ezinearticles and have a link there to direct them to adsense/affiliate pages.
  • Post all of them on my own adsense/affiliate websites and hope to gain some organic traffic from them
  • Post all of them to hubpages/Squidoo to earn some of their in-built ad and affiliate programs.
These are just some of the ideas that I could have come up with so far and am not sure which one would work better.

Any ideas on how to monetize the 100 articles effectively?

You said "without SEO", but then you suggested that you are going to do SEO. Lol. Sorry, had to point that out When you post on Squidoo you are SEO'ing your articles. Why? because if they are so great, then people will back link to them. Lol.

Anyway: it's all about traffic, right? And organic traffic is the best kind. So, whatever you want to think of this: SEO or not, you are going to have to build links back to your site. If you believe in the quality of your articles -- then people will SEO it for you.

So, why not do it yourself for a start? It's not black hat if you post 3-4 back links to your article from some other decent sites. It's certainly not a crime. Are you not allowed to post links back to your site as a forum discussion? Of course you can. It's actually natural to tell people about your websites. Google doesn't "penalize" that type of thing.

If you do some SEO that looks organic (do not buy 10000 links to your site in 1 day) you will give an article a chance to gain at least 10-20 visitors per day.

I will say this over and over again... Google looks for the pattern of consistent backlinks. If you were Google, what would you consider authentic?

    1) 1000 backlinks to a page in 1 day, or

    2) 1 link back to a page every day for 100 days in a row?

Just start with 3-4, add one every week, from forums, some other sites. Don't rush.

Here is how Google thinks: Eventually, if the page is great, someone is meant to post a back link to it. When that happens, they add small % of visibility to your URL that received that backlink. But not all the time.

It is true that even with a small number of well-anchored backlinks to relevant pages, Google will sometimes bump your site up to "test drive it" in search result. That is how they allow new sites to compete with existing ones. A lot of people refer to this as "Google Dance", but really, it is this democratic thinking that is part of why this type of thing happens.

If they didn't do this, then all old sites would always be in #1 spot with thousands of backlinks to them. Apparently Google loves competition, so they let new sites that are well-anchored get to the top every once in a while. Why? Because if the site is truly relevant, then people will organically post even more back links to the site. And who knows? Maybe you have created content that is 2x times better than the other site. Of course it's in Google's interest to offer visitors this better site, than the old one.

So, gradually, build backlinks, to 3-5 of your sites. Don't focus on all 100 of them at the same time.

I have written over 400 articles in 2 years. But I have a site that only has to pages, and it makes over 50% of all of my AdSense income, because it gets the same amount of traffic as 100s of other pages I wrote taken together!

This happened because of what I call "slow-motion" backlinking. I gradually build well-anchored links back to my sites. Once a page's traffic breaks out, then it can be very profitable... And then once you know that 1,000 people see your page every day, it gives you motivation to improve it. At that point people will start linking back to your page on their own... and that is when you have hit a gold mine with that article. Move on to the next. Rinse and repeat. And try not to outsmart Google. Instead, try to help it get the best content to people who search for it. Remember that, essentially, Google makes the entire world work for them by improving the content of their websites.

I would post the articles on your own site, you can schedule the posts. Then spin the articles for WEB 2.0 properties.

how about selling the articles as PLRs? This way you no need to drive traffic to them. Just sell them in the "Wanted - Members Looking To Hire You" thread

    Awesomo beat me to it.

I'm wondering WHY you wrote 100 articles? That might give you some clues about how to use them.

Were they written for a potential client in batches, with (say) 10 articles per topic? If so, they are perfect for selling as PLR (provided, of course, that the original client didn't pay you or take delivery of the articles).

Were they written because you enjoy writing and have a particular interest in the subjects? Again, are there batches of articles on specific topics. Again, selling as PLR would be a good way to go.

However, having said that, it sounds as if really you ARE interested in running a site or sites of your own. Start with one site and add all the articles related to a specific topic.

    Then start learning seo!

      Hi guys,

Thanks for all the great advice

I got about 30 websites where I have been SEO-ing them / building backlinks to them for about a year now. So far I gave each of the sites about 20 backlinks each (proper white hat backlinks). The thing is I am running out of places to build backlinks, and I can't see myself doing constant backlinking for years to come without giving the same backlinks to different websites, which I suspect would trigger off some Google alarm bell.

Either way, the reason I wrote 100 articles, is because I do love writing on a variety of subject, and it is something I can imagine doing in the long term. Also, I was earning a decent income from article marketing before the Google Panda update. I have a suspicion that article marketing can still work today under a different strategy.

Was just wondering if there are any creative white hat ways to use 100 original articles without SEO.

Thanks again for all the great advice!

I aggree with the above suggestions! Posting the articles on your own site is the best to get some top search rankings. If your websites are keyword specific to the article then it is even better for back-linking and google results.

A new method I just discovered today.

Place a Facebook comment box at the bottom of each article that already has traffic.

The average Facebook user has 100-150 friends (statistically true, and has been scientifically researched in the past) Try it yourself, see how many friends your FB people have. You'll be amazed at the accuracy of this. Hopefully

So, the point is... when people post a comment on your article all 100-150 friends see that. Imagine if you get a comment every day. That's an extra 100 views per day, or 3,000 per month. Imagine if your content is amazing and those friends tell other friends, and you can get viral and traffic explodes, making you $ on AdSense or Amazon.

Not to mention that builds reputation.

    Just an idea.

    Good Luck.

Go find one of the 1,000 threads on article marketing.

Ignore 99.9999999999% of all of it, and focus on what you read by MYOB and Alexa Smith (there are really good article marketers too, these two just stick in my mind).

If you were to follow their advice, those 100 articles would be more than enough to get you started at making real money.

For God's sake don't post them anywhere but on a site you own before doing anything else with them.

I'd publish them on your own website before posting them anywhere else. Bad people could remove your links and post your content as their own, and without it originally published under your website, who would know? Just a thought

      That's interesting.

In your last post you said this...

It is advisable not to spin any of your article as it might get you into some trouble if your found out
What changed your mind in the intervening 20 seconds between your post here and the one I just quoted?

10 people talk or think about Twitter.

Only 1 out of 10 understands how to use Twitter or what the hell it is.

How to use Twitter for marketing?

Look, you get Thanks on this forum for helping people out. Sometimes you get Thanks on this forum for saying something the person thanking you can relate to. Over the past 20 days, I have earned 35 thanks on this forum.

Could it be that... wait.. really.. Twitter... a bigger...more accessible...fo-rum.. on ANY subject? Bingo!

"Follow" is the new "Thank you".

        Ideas are everything.

Stage 1: Get a small Twitter following (in under an hour)

Everybody knows by now that to quickly make a small Twitter following (100-300) to start with, all you need to do is go to a profile of a person who is an authority on something (web design, personal development, anything...) Follow as many of his followers as you can, and a % will follow you back. The importance? -- now you know what type of people follow you. Yes this level of detail of understanding is crucial. Don't get lazy. It actually gets fun later on.

        Personal Example

I run a jQuery Newsletter. So I followed John Resig (the creator of jQuery) - i followed about 1000 of his followers. Next day I had 131 jQuery enthusiasts following me.

Be aware that Twitter allows you to follow only up to 2000 users. And then, you can follow more later, but it depends on how you use Twitter, which is determined by an algorithm.

It's harder to get followed than to follow. So, with 10 followers you get an allowance of about 1000 users you can follow. The more follow you, the more you can follow.

The good news is that if you follow someone who is interested in XYZ, you can begin talking to them about XYZ, which is what gets their attention.

Think about people who follow you as a forum thread on that subject. The only weird thing is that why are we limited to small messages and influenced to talk about nothing? Anyway,

        Stage 2: Begin the gospel

Now I have 131+ people follow my ideas! I started to respond to their tweets, and make statements about web development and jQuery. The more interesting your post is, the more people check out your profile. Your profile has a URL to a site related to the niche of the followers you were following on an authority's profile site. They actually click on the URL. I had 17 clicks on my jQuery newsletter page in 1 day from hyper-targeted users.
