Amazon pageview stats?

I wrote a book on how to become a freelance writer online. It's a beginner's guide. I know next to nothing about building web pages and created a sales page via GoDaddy just from tinkering around. I sold the book through smash words, e-junkie and lulu press. I also published a version on Amazon Kindle.

What gets me is that I sold one, maybe two copies through the website that I paid for, but I've sold about 75 copies via Amazon and Smashwords that only cost me revenue share. I've more than made what I paid for GoDaddy and e-junkie. Google analytics tells me that I had 500+ hits on the page in the last year.

My question is this: is there any way to find out how many page views or demographics for the Amazon page with my book on it? and if anyone wants to take a stab at critiquing my sales page, its on write your life -dot-org.
It's created through Website Tonight which I find to be very cumbersome. I just updated the copy based on some very good tips I've read in the forum. I'm more of an article guy than a copy/sales guy. Mind you, I'm not trying to create any more products for this page than the book I have now. Thanks!

What is your focus keyword for the page?

How many backlinks have you built to the site, what type and from what sources? edu/gov/com ...

Your page looks just about passable but it does have the look of something thrown together and needs a lot of polish.

My advice would be to install wordpress and create your own site. But rather than just creating a 1-2 page sales site actually create an ever growing blog/site. Use the sales page as your home page and regularly create and add new content through useful articles, tutorials which can help people and show them the sort of quality advice you can get from the guide.

Small 1-2 websites do not generate trust, larger established sites like amazon automatically transfer some of their reputation to your product which is always a bonus.

Also consider installing one of the social network plugins for wordpress like "Twitter Facebook Social Share" which is free from Kunal Chichkar. Once you start to get more tweets, likes, stumbles and so on that will help as well. People respond to people and will to a degree follow the crowd.

If you would like help with the wordpress side of things feel free to add me on skype and i can give you some free pointers.

    Good Luck!

Thanks a bunch. That does help answer some other questions I had. I do have a blog for the book and was updating it regularly but I fell off. I guess I'll combine the blog and the sales page to a word press page and go from there.

As far as the amazon question, though, I'm still interested in how to see pageviews for my book.

Sorry pbrite. Can't answer that one. My book is also being sold through Smashwords and supposedly through Amazon via them but for a few months now they have had a note saying that smashwords and amazon are trying to figure out some issues.

I took some of your suggestions and really examined the keywords and figured out I had little to no legitimate ones throughout the page. I also updated the meta-tags. Even though I have a target audience in mind, it seems that through Google's keyword tool they'll most likely be using the same keyword searches as everyone else. For example, I want to target unemployed professionals since that's who can benefit the most as freelance writers for content mills or private clients right now. Some of the bigger mills are letting go of their "general" writers and seeking out experts only. I'm not trying to create a generation of article marketers; rather, letting professionals explore freelance writing as a way back into their career fields.

It's all simple tips for people in this forum but you'd be surprised (or not) how many people that have no idea about freelance writing or creating their own simple, free promotional pages.

But alas, "work from home" and "career from home" are the keywords.

My other issue is that I didn't pay attention to my registration so I'm stuck with the domain name and hosting for another year. So instead of working on WordPress like you suggested, I'm improving my blog based on other suggestions in the room.

I didn't consider using an opt-in mailing list because really I only have one product I'm selling and have no plans to create others in this category to upsell/downsell. It's not a service; just one book. HOWEVER I like Alexa's ideas and others about using the mailing list to build trust, lead it to the blog, and if someone is interested they'll buy the book or hit that sales page.

Right now I'm working on a $0 budget but will have some money to work with in a few weeks.

      Thanks again for your help!
