Default Registry Fix for Windows Vista with 64 bit?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a Registry Fix for Windows Vista with 64 bit? I love Registtry Fix, but the older versions don’t work on new laptops.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Dbarnum

I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 bit on a desk top, so far I have been using

TuneUp Utilities 2008 wich is a suite of utilities, really handy to keep the computer running fast, they have got anew one out now called TuneUp Utilities 2009 which they claim is better but you will have to pay for it.

Try this for free, goto vunnet.com at the top of the page click on down loads, when the page loads type in ccleaner in the search box and down load it, it should clean up and fix your regisity.

Have a look around you will find a few regisitry tools and they all come with a reviews so you can't go wrong.

By the way I am not affiliated to any of the above...
Hope that helps
Ken-g

Thanks, Ken-g !

I'm hoping some day that computers will have their own software for this included, like the speaking system you can now set up with Office 2003 +. It's amazing all the things our computers can do that most of us probably don't even know about to take avantage of regularly.

I've used Windows for years and have never done anything with the registry. I do defragment about once a week or 2 and clean out all the temp files maybe once a year, but that's it.

I have used mainly Vista (32 bit) nearly since it first came out. Really happy with it. Awesome system. I do not have the slightest problem with it and always thought the registry fix stuff was a scam.

I do have a Windows 7 laptop now, but so far like Vista better. OK, so I'm a little different...

Most registry software are waste of money. Here is a quote from Wikipedia:

Most notably, critics say there is no reliable way for a third party program to know whether any particular key is invalid or redundant. Poorly designed registry cleaners may not know for sure whether a key is still being used by Windows or what detrimental effects removing it may have. This has led to examples of registry cleaners causing loss of functionality and/or system instability, as well as application compatibility updates from Microsoft to block problematic registry cleaners. The Windows Installer CleanUp Utility is a Microsoft-supported utility for addressing Windows Installer related issues.

If you are experiencing something weird, check your physical RAM instead.

why is this in the marketing forum?

I don't mean to flame, but why ask for tech support in the marketing section? that's like asking asking for steel toed boots at a book store.

This seems anyway to be an old thread that someone has resurrected.

I think Richard Torres was trying to be helpful several months after the initial post, not sure. It's his first post here (welcome aboard, fellow Warrior, by the way)

Appreciated the comments, and sure, feel free to move the thread or delete. Oldie thread and topic, and moving on to Windows 7 here, too, actually. But always appreciate (and appreciated) the helpful posts, so thanks for those above, on time and later on - -all appreciated
