hi all,

just completed work on my first site tat i intend to sell on flippa, its got a little bit of traffic and a couple of sales. Ive read pretty much everything i can take in about flipping sites, but theres just a couple of things i need to clarify.
Apparently flippa wont let you display profits for the site if it is less than 2 months old, how true is this?
Also, i know how to list it and where to list it, but does anybody have any ideas on what the best time of day it is to make a listing? Or more importantly when the auction should finish i guess

Do it when flippa has 3000 people + online

Do this if you want to get instantly bumped down to where nobody can see you.

    Hi,

You should do a case study of this. It would be interesting to see how a brand new site does on Flippa.

Very interesting post, from what I have seen over time, unless you have a marketing list of users that are interested in buying websites, depending on flippa for your marketing will likely result in a lower sales point.

I would be interested learning how you do with and without a marketing plan.

Yes, it is true that you cannot claim any revenue if your site is under two months old. Although the revenue won't be displayed, many Flippa members include their revenue statistics in their thread and Flippa doesn't do anything about it - I've done it back when I was a newbie. What I would recommend is aging your domains beforehand if you want to quickly make some revenue then flip the site.

My personal best time to list a website is at 7PM EST. When I list my websites, they are usually all of high authority therefore I purchase the featured upgrade so my listing is on the front page. When I list it at 7PM, my listing usually doesn't get bumped down until about 11PM which is incredible comparing how many visitors I receive . I would recommend the date you finish either be a Friday or Saturday. You always want to finish your auction when most people are online on Flippa. The reason why you shouldn't finish on Sunday is because at many times, your listing gets extended due to last minute bids.

cheers guys, this is useful, hadn't even given thought to marketing my auction outside of flippa. I'll have to look into this especially as i have 3-4 sites in the pipe line to be listed.

Interesting thoughts on the case study, ill give this a little thought with the thought to a possible future WSO release.

Would many people be interested in this sort of information before i set about documenting all of my results?

Well the sites listed now, so lets see what happens.

on a side note, for a new domain, they wont even allow you to put up photos of claimed earnings now. on the list claimed payments part it is blocked so you cant input anything in the field
