Kindle - Updating Content Of Already Published Book

I have a book that I published to Kindle a little over a year ago. Since it was published, I've found a few errors in it (spelling, punctuation, and one small paragraph that I had to rewrite for clarity). My question is this: Has anyone updated the content to an already published Kindle book that can tell me what "surprises" I'm in for? As I've never done this before, I'd like to avoid stepping in poop.

Good for you for fixing up the errors!

You're not going to step on any poop by cleaning up poop (errors).

Once you upload and submit your revised manuscript your title will be in "republish" mode which means during this time and the time the updated file goes live the old eBook will be still be available.

So anyone who buys during this period will be getting the old version with the errors.

Once it goes back to "live" then anyone buying from this point forward will be getting the new groovy version.

I have revised and updated Kindle books without an issue. Simply upload the file (select the kindle title, then select "edit"). Once you are done and have hit "save" you will see a notice that it is under review. The review takes about 24 hours or so and will then replace the older version. In the meantime, the original version is still live unless you pulled it from sale.

If the revised edition has new/updated/additional resources, information, etc that add to the value of the publication or if the revision has altered the word count you may want to update the description as well.
