Best 2012 Strategy For A New Marketer?

Happy New Year, All.

This is my first post on the Warrior Forum. What a fantastic place.

I'm looking to create multiple online streams of income in 2012, and am curious about advice on where to start. What strategy do you think is best, and why?

I realize I am going to get a lot of different answers, but that's kind of the point.

Would you suggest a different strategy for a $500/month business vs. a $5000 a month business?

I appreciate any and all insight.

I have tried both product sales and service sales. There will be arguments as to which is better. I now put out good products and upsell my services. I have found this to be thebest of both worlds.

You can outsource both of these things or do them yourself. There is a wealth of free information and things here that can help you reach your goal.

I know this is gonna sounds repetitive and you might not understand fully how to monetize it yet but 2 words , SOCIAL MEDIA , get good at that and the rest will come. Im not saying only try social media but it is a great start , dont give up

First of all, welcome to the forum. There are a lot of good and very knowledgeable people here that can definitely help you with your goals.

I would definitely not consider myself any "expert" yet, but one thing I can definitely say (at least for myself) is that its better to focus on one thing at a time before jumping into other campaigns or products. That was my mistake in the beginning. Didn't make sales within the first few days of promoting the product so I switch over to something else. That got me nowhere fast.

HOWEVER, once you do get your first campaign going strongly, it'll keep generating a profit for you while you move onto a new product to promote. This is the key. You'll want to come back every now and then and give the old campaign a little push here and little nudge there, but once you get a lot of content out there, it'll do the work for you for months (years even in some cases).

Hope this helps! And once again, welcome!

Welcome to the WF. I would suggest you start out with blogging. More specifically, I would go for what's called a niche blog -- centers around a particular theme like weight loss, dating, golf, learn guitar, video games...and will generally contain both product reviews and articles on topics related to your niche. You should choose a niche that's both profitable and one you have an interest in.

As for the benefits, there are many. The idea of niche blogging has been around for some time now and has become a stanard that virtually every marketer uses. It's the prinicple way to "make money while you sleep," since you can get traffic from the search engines 24/7. You can generate multiple streams of income from the same blog and work around your own schedule. Niche blogs also gain equity as they age and can be sold for lump sum profits and more.

As for the money part, it's all about getting targeted traffic. This will come from pushing out unique, quality content (necessary in all aspects of internet marketing). The more targeted traffic you get, the more money you will make. Oh, I forgot to mention that the money from niche blogging is passive - work once but continue to profit and grows over time.

    Good luck,
    Joey

I've found being a product vendor fits me best. I have affiliates do a lot of selling while I sit back and work on improving my conversions and sales funnel. I was strictly an affiliate when I started which can be lucrative but my bottom line increased drastically when I started making my own products.

I also know the quality of my work so I don't have to rely on finding other quality products and worry about their customer service and things like that.

Sorry buddy but asking another person to come up with a original idea for you is a bit much. Asking somebody on advice on how to carry out your vision is what people usually come to the warrior forum to do. Come up with a idea that is unique and powerful. Start forming a plan to carry out your idea. You will either be a product owner, affiliate or service provider. Those are your three broad choices. The service provider is the closest thing to a job. The affiliate is the most common option but most competitive. The product owner is the most profitable but requires the most skill to pull off.

Affiliate marketing is what I do best. Using a simple system of article syndication to online/offline targeted publications has enabled me to quickly and consistently profit from the most hotly competitive and lucrative niches. This business model certainly isn't new, but so far it seems to be unbeatable. And coupled with virtually unlimited vendors available looking for affiliates, it appears to have the most upside earning potential.

    Welcome to the forum.

You acknowledged that you expect varied answers to your question.

You will be the one to check what makes sense and what may not work for your circumstances.

Now, you are the vision carrier of your destiny. The assumption is that you've already decided what you want to do. In executing your plan...

    1. Use common sense.
    2. Work extremely hard-aiming at clocking 10,000 hours as soon as possible. This is the point of mastery.
    3. Do not be discouraged by opinions of others.
    4. Look for top experts in your particular niche ( blogging, product development ;services provision, affiliate marketing ) and emulate them. There is a reason why they are successful.
    5. Target high-end markets.
    6. Value your time.

Maybe to begin with, the easiest thing is to offer services. Then you can scale it up, outsource it, etc.

Hey Noid, I would strongly echo the thoughts above around focus and specialisation. I wont list the things you could do in the online world as there has already been many but I would suggest that once you decide upon one you stick with it for a lengthy period. Once you feel confident with that area you can branch out further.
