Default Re: Does PPC Spy really do this?

I have subscribed to one of the two upgrade paths of PPC Spy and I found the tool at times not working and not yielding any data (maybe server problems, letīs see).
For those who do not have large listst o promote the product the adwords analysis would be of some interest. But keep in mind that campaigns must have run for at least 4 weeks before any keywords are shown. That degrades the value because by that time you have a lot of adwords competition and the keywords normally have become quite expensive.
There are a number of other tools in the market that give you similar results as PPC Web Spy does (including Brad Callenīs own Keyword Elite) and they also include competition data (SEOC and others)
What really makes me mad is that the Gold version does not show the promised 50 top keywords but obviously not more than 10 - just as the standard version. So also in view of the other posts here I think in most cases get the standard version and decide then if you want to continue.

There's been some pretty big "gurus" promoting this too, i've had numerious emails from them and after reading the OTO now I see why - tut tut - shame on you lol.

I love this forum Thanks guys

It pays to think it through for yourself, regardless of what someone else says you should be doing. Think of it as the "Method", but instead of applying it to acting, use it while determining what products you need or what services or tools you'll subscribe by considering the *motivation* of the vendor or affiliate who's telling you whatever it is that they're telling you.

The motivation is profit, of course, and there's nothing wrong with that at all. We're all after profit. If you determine by your own research and analysis that it suits you to subscribe or purchase, go for it. A win-win for you and your vendors is great. Just make sure there's 2 "wins" in there.

As a starting marketer building his toolbox, I was attracted by the keyword "search" (spy) feature in PPC Web Spy. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that it was not performing very well. I don't know if it's related to the fact that I don't live in the US, but the tool often reported that there is not enough data to display keywords.

And now I read about other concerns here. So I'm removing the tool. Thanks everyone for sharing your insights. I love this forum!

This is crossing that fine line to me. I also think it's amazing to see how & who is promoting it, and the lack of moral outrage for this nifty piece of spyware, just because we all know the creator.

I looked at it, downloaded it and freaked out trying to figure out how to get 'all' of it off my computer. This was after I jumped to the conclusion that there was other 'stuff' going on in the program that I couldn't see.

No sugar coating here, this is not right.
