A Question For Any Internet Marketer Willing To Answer!

Hi Guys,

I have a question I need answered.

I've been juggling with several different niches and playing with a couple ideas.

To be honest, I would rather create a product around something I
know and am familiar with which is the Music Industry. I have
interned for several major record companies and have spent the
last 3 years of my life around some of the biggest artist in the
industry, learning all about the music business.

I want to teach up and coming artist how to break into the music
industry using some of the things I have learned throughout the
years and put them into products.

Is this something I can make money with???

Most people I have observed are in more high demand niches such
as making money, weight loss, dating, etc.

I want to know who here thinks the music industry is a profitable niche.

If so I definitely am going to get started on this.

I would really appreciate everyone's honest opinion on this.

Thanks,

Yes, there is money in the music industry.
Yes, there is certainly money in helping people break into the music industry.

    2. Read the 2nd oldest post there, started by Jack Duncan and some other Old Farts
    3. After your brain explodes, take action and enjoy the money

You are always going to be much better off creating a product around something you either have a lot of passion for and/or a lot of knowledge.

It makes it much easier to create something you care about and also potentially gives you a lot more credibility as you aren't creating a product about something you think is a good money spinner, but have no real practical experience in.

With your background in the music industry, I'm sure you could build up a business coaching budding artists.

Thank you both for your quick replies.

I know that millions of people would love to get a record deal. My common sense was telling me that this would be a no brainier but I wasn't 100% sure.

I just didn't see that many products in this market being created and wondered was this a sign that It isn't worth getting into.

You both helped me come to my conclusion.

    Thank You

I know a few people that have tried to break into this niche and it's such a difficult niche to break into because most musicians are pretty low on cash to begin with - mostly starving artists. But if you are really passionate about this then don't let me talk you out of it.

And one tip I'll give you that it's new and sounds pretty awesome is the new Google music platform where people can store tons of music on line. Maybe you can work out an angle, come out with an ebook that teaches people how to use this platform or even make money with it.

    All the best.

I'll be honest with you that is a small sub niche. It does have people that want that info but are skeptic to spend their money. I have seen a few products on Clickbank with not too much profit. I would suggest you do some keyword research and see if there are a lot of people searching. Go check out the keywords in Google, Yahoo and Bing and see if there are any ads there. That will tell you a lot.

I think there would be a market there. I think one of the problems you will encounter (that has already been pointed out) that aspiring musicians may not have the money to spend on an information product.

But when you look at how much money there is being made in the guitar lessons niche there must be customers who are willing to spend money in this area.

I would suggest that you try and identify a sub niche within that market that is both passionate about the industry and has the money to spend.

In my mind I imagine a guy in his 30's working in marketing/advertising earning over a 100k a year who always wanted to be a rock star as being the kind of customer you should be going after.

Or if you are targeting the broader market how about doing a review site for software that musicians use, and affiliating for the product. You can do comparisons, do video reviews etc.

Yes, the music niche is HOT!

Go on Clickbank and start investigating the products in that niche. What you'll need to look for is something similar to what you wanna do and see if its actively being sold on CB.

Also, I would highly recommend seeking the help of Jamie Lewis. He's a 8 figure earner online, you've probably seen some of his stuff in the make money niche. But he also has many top products in the Clickbank music market.

Basically, the dude kills it. Here are a few of his sites.

Sonic Producer >> Beat Making Software | Beat Maker | Make Your Own Rap Beats ...
Beats365: Hip Hop & Rap Beats | Download Rap & Hip Hop Instrumentals, Sound Effects, Stock Music
    Play Anything On Drums.. Guaranteed.

    And hes got many more!

I'm a member of his coaching program where he does multiple webinars per week and teaches you how to do this stuff. I highly recommend you check that out too.

I did a video review of it on one of my sites. You can check that out too if you'd like.

There is tons of money to be made in that area.

Some of the largest forums online are revolved around the music industry, such as music, guitars, bass and percussion.

I would suggest going to those types of forums and see what people are looking for, and give it to them. Up comer musicians flock to those sites for advice and help.

    Try starting there.

I know that the "Learn Guitar" niche is hot - there are several affiliate products in that niche on Clickbank. I would create a site, start building a list and market some affiliate products while you are creating your own product.

Also I would look into working on another niche or income stream - you want to be diversified.

The trick to success in this market is your name, what you've done and who you know. Who you really know. Who you can verify you know. If you're connected people will flock to you.

    What's goin' on Josh,

Keep us posted on your plans. I'm actually a hip hop beatmaker/producer, so if yoou come up with a sound product to sell, I can tweet my followers which consist of a chunk of upcoming rap artists and what not. The product would probably have to be a reasonable price (sadly, I've noticed in the hip hop industry that more and more upcoming people want FREE rather than to invest any money, even though they need to learn that in ANY industry, you have to invest in yourself if you really expect to go anywhere).

Keep us posted... curious to see your success with this product, as there are many upcoming artists that need to know the raw truth behind trying to become an artist, such as the advances that they think is their money to keep, when it's only recoup money they have to give back if they don't make enough money on record sales and other areas.

Much success to you Josh, you CAN succeed, it just takes a bit more work in the music business in general since it is so competitive.

I wish you all the best...I definitely think there is a market for that since it's such a small niche, you can really stand out...look at all the videos on youtube of the kids doing covers trying to be found...you might think about integrating several marketing strategies incorporating youtube and the like...just a quick thought.

    Hey Josh,

YES! There are many people who are trying to break into the music industry.

For example: Check out www.soundcloud.com there are over 10 million registered users who upload music that they've created. Many of these people are trying to break into the music industry by uploading their musical talents for the world to see.

Of course there are many more avenues of traffic - this is only one example; just to show you that you can position yourself as a trusted expert in front of this audience and turn a profit with proper marketing techniques.

    Best of luck.

Someone passionate in one niche like music in this case will always want to invest if you know how to trigger his hearth (dream) on the sales page.

One of my niche is also full of passionate people: Pilots and Airplanes. Their is a lot of money to be done here too.

Stay focus; building a product sometimes can be long.

It will repay itself after, thousands and thousands of time.

      Good success !
