Adsense checks in the UK?

Well, I just got my a adsense check since I started a new account and I'm wondering what bank do you use to cash adsense checks in you live in the U.K.

I attempted to use Halifax and they say they can't cash dollars and that I would have to open an account in america or find another bank, which seems a bit silly considering. Sorry if this thread oversteps any boundries just a little curious.

    That's nonsense about the Halifax - all banks can do it. In fact, I have done it many times in the Bank of Scotland which is part of the HBOS group.

    Haven't they heard of exchange rates? I think you got the trainee teller!

    I've also done it in RBS.

    The fees can be hefty - maybe around £7.00 per cheque if I recall correctly.

    This from the Halifax's website:

    Foreign Cheques and Deposits

    You can also pay selected foreign currency cheques into your account at a branch counter. We'll advise you of the charges and when your account may be credited at the time you make the deposit. Some cheques may need returning to their country of origin - known as Foreign Cheque Collection. You'll be notified if your cheque needs to be dealt with in this way. The cleared funds will then be credited to your account when we receive them, which can take up to six weeks and we'll write to you advising of the amount received, less our charges. Any banks involved in clearing a cheque may make a charge.

    Why don't you have it paid straight into your bank account from adsense, its much easier

    You can get adsense paid into your bank from day 1 - it is clickbank that insist on 3 cheques!

    For right now go back to the Halifax and if you get an idiot on the counter ask to speak to the manager - of course you can pay an american dollar cheque into your account - it might cost an arm and a leg and take all year (well more like £5-£20 and 1-8 weeks) but it can be done.

    For the futuer just go into your account settings and get paid straight to your Uk bank in pounds!
