I'm looking for a way to email prospects a marketing video but don't want to send them to Youtube, but I want to make sure it plays for them.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I guess that is what I'm unsure how to do, how do you embed a video in an email?

Depends if your using an autoresponder or a isp for email. Most of them work just off an embed link.
Okay now for what I really want to say. I am all for video marketing. Video is 54 percent of the web, but I am not ready for people to start sending me marketing videos.
It may just be me but thats how I feel.

Are you opposed to embedding the vid on your own landing page and linking to the vid in the email? That's what I do and that's what a lot of emails that I receive do.

I encourage you to put it on youtube for viral tools and searchability (and bandwidth) and then EMBED it on your wordpress/blog page.

In fact if you hit the link in my sig you can see how I do it.

While not IMPOSSIBLE to put a video INSIDE an email, it is impractical, as it would have to download first to their computer (or stream via html -which most mail clients will BLOCK)

99% of the time if you THINK a video is embedded in an email...it is NOT...it is a PICTURE of a video, and they take you to a webpage

I agree with igrowyourbiz - embedding a video inside an email should be considered a no go. There are ways of doing it - I used a specialist service to do this for a client a few years ago, and it wasn't a great success. This even managed to stream the video within the mail rather than attach it - but the sacrifices made to make this possible ruined the experience.

As mentioned - most people embed a picture (a screen grab of the video with a play button overlaid) that links through. Just make sure the video is front and center of the page they land on and auto-plays - as that's what they'll expect to see.

What's best is that you can place a picture or a snapshot of the video with a play button on the center and when people click the play button, it will be redirected to where the video is hosted.

I upload my video to youtube and place the youtube link in my outgoing email, when I do that there is a thumbnail that automatically pops up in the outgoing email and the video can be viewed right from the email.

You can also try wisestamp, with wisestamp you can create cool email signatures with video, links to tweets, etc.

There's also Vimeo - $199 a year and if you're pushing a lot of traffic might be cheaper than Amazon.

You can embed with YouTube - it's an option on every video they host. However the only downside to Youtube is that at the end of the video the user is shown other videos (not yours by the way) and the user can click away.

It depends on your use case I suppose.
