What is the Best email marketing option if you have a very large list?

Is it possible to manage a large list as much as 50,000 emails and above on your host email servers?

I understand some sites still manage to send weekly newsletters to their subscribers through their host servers.

If not, which email service provider would you recommend for large lists.

Thanks

We have been using iContact to manage similar size lists for a couple of years now. It's FAR easier than trying to maintain your own bulk smtp server because you have to ensure your send / bounce rates aren't to high to avoid blacklisting.

They have very good tracking as well. They have a bunch of "community posting" features we don't use, not sure what those are like. They also auto-scrub your lists for you and give you stats on complaints.

They have 2 interfaces for creating messages - MessageCoder (for working directly with code) and a WYSIWYG editor. They offer a ton of templates if you aren't designing your own layouts too.

From the way you've phrased your question, it sounds like you haven't mailed these people before - or at least not all at once - so yes you definitely need to consider the bounce rate. If unsure, perhaps start by sending your first mailing to a sub-section of the list, to test the water.

All the major email providers will have no problem mailing to a list that size - but they charge using differing models, so a list that size could prove to be expensive, so check how they charge when choosing.

And many of the major email providers will require that you make your list opt-in again after giving you the third degree over where you got the subscribers from. Just sayin...

you can buy vps service from a hosting company, shop around, or you can get an auto responder but you have to have IP addresses in order to upload, as for how to track links, you can use several link trackers, bud url is no good but most others are ok like clixtrac you can pay 9.95 a month to track opens clicks, conversions, youre good to go
