Need help with choice over wp theme!

I don't know if changing the theme would influence your current rankings, because I never did this. This will have to answer someone else.

Regarding to avoiding being hacked in the future, you should definitely stronger your passwords, and install some wordpress security plugins like Bulletproof security, Secure your Wordpress, etc. Just search for that in Google. When my website were hacked I changed my passwords to everywhere. You should do the same. I use 16 characters passwords, as it was a recommendation of a guy I watched on YouTube.

When installing free themes, just be careful about some long strange codes in your footer or header. Those are hacked themes and those can affect your rankings, depending on what the code is saying. But in general, free theme is no different from paid theme in terms of rankings. It's the same.

For free themes, just search wordpress.org and you'll find plenty of theme. Those are reviewed by the wordpress staff and should not be hacked.

What? NO. I've ranked dozens and dozens of sites using K2 - I can't stop referring this one.

- And last please could you recommend me some free templates to use (for now as i am a bit of cash at this moment. but plan o switch on paid thesis theme in some near future. just need to change this theme asap so i dont need to deal with hackers on daily basis)

I've had a theme change improve my rankings before, but not make it worse.

Go to Woo Themes. Those are premium themes and they have numerous free ones to choose from and you can be sure, they aren't hacked in any way.

Ive changed themes a few times and they do affect rankings because of the way your links, content is organized above the fold. For minimum changes try to choose one that will not move stuff around to much.

I use free ones some times and have no problems with them.

Very likely yes. It's not a good thing ever to change your theme or do any big changes to the site. When I did this (and I did it multiple times), I always saw a decrease in rankings. However, if it's a must, then do it, the sooner the better. You'll get your rankings back after some time, anyway.

Pick a trustworthy theme only. If you are not sure about the theme, just Google it and read some reviews of it to ensure you won't get hacked. If the theme doesn't have any reviews, then don't use it.

They may and may not, it depends on the theme. Again, read some reviews of the theme prior to even uploading it to your site. Some free themes are really poorly coded and have a lot of BS code that shouldn't be there.

I can recommend the Suffusion theme. It very customizable and easy to use. As for paid themes, I think the best one is Thesis. It's quite pricey, though, but definitely worth it.
