I want to give Amazon a try. Should I start blogger blogs or a website to post Amazon reviews and try to make money as an Amazon affiliate.

I would suggest making a website but I am a newbie so I don't think my opinion would count.

Hosting your own domain will definately be the best approach.
Wordpress should fit your need well.

If you have money then go with your own domain name and website. If for some reason you can not afford it then use blogger and setup your first website there.

If you have budget for it, I would go for your own website. The reason is, it is your own and no one can touch it. You can later make small blogger blogs that would point to your own website for some SEO and traffic. So if you have your own website it begins to get value from the day you started it. Later you can sell it or anything you want to do with it.

From the long term view, create your own website... From the money view, create a blogger blog and begin to learn on that (this solution is good if you don't have money to pay for a domain and a hosting).

    Hope it helps

Get a domain and throw the idea of using a free blog.

I used to think the same way a long time ago, I now know it was a stupid idea.

Get a domain and build on it, in the long run you will know why I say this so badly.

Although many people like blogger, I don't use it. I recommend Wordpress, as it's the most widely-used CMS out there.

If you are going to promote Amazon products on the WP blog, I can recommend a plugin called EasyAzon. It's a great plugin that automatically creates review widgets and other things you can include on your WP blog to promote Amazon products.

Get your own website will be best, install wordpress. The free website is ultimately still not your own. If one day blogger decides to disable your free site then it's gonna be effort wasted...

    A website.

Nothing wrong with it being a blog, but not hosted there: I'd strongly advise you to stay away from Blogger/Blogspot, Sid.

I've seen it posted here a few times, but I am going to say it again... Get your own hosting, your own domain and use wordpress. I understand that it's easy for people to log into blogger etc. and start building a site there, but there is no sense in trying to push traffic to a site you do not actually own.

Now don't get me wrong, places like blogger do have their place, but they are just a step in the process to getting people and link juice to your own site.

I guess there is a general consensus here that you should get your own website Getting a domain is not that expensive and you have much more control over your success than with a blog. You should probably have some prior knowledge on running a website though, but there are great free resources available all over the internet

Setting up your own site is always best. I personally use Wordpress for my sites. So many plugins you can use to make it SEO friendly. You don't have to use the comment function so you can use it as a normal website and Google loves Wordpress.

In a perfect world, the best types of platforms would be to use both. A static website as your money domain and a blog and/or social blogs to point to your website domain.

The key question here is how much do you have to invest in your business? From that answer you will get a roadmap to follow. If you have no money to invest then going the free blogger and social hubs created is the way to go. But remember that you are at the mercy of the owner on that route.

Owning your own website will give you at least the control that you need. What you put on it, like Amazon products, is your choice.

A Wordpress blog is definitely the easiest to setup. Static websites use less memory and bandwidth. Wordpress blogs uses 3 times more memory and bandwidth to load pages than traditional static websites.

It really depends on what you are going to do with the site.
