Hi Guys!

Can anyone enlighten me as how Fiverr actually works!

Around six months ago i advertised a plr ebook and have altogether got around $80 in sales.I have had around 180 views

My son was very interested i IM so he used the exact plr book and a few days later recieved over 100 views in just 2 days.

Since then his ad has recieved over 900 views and no sales ???

Whilst i still get around two sales a month?

Sometimes is how targeted the views are.
I rather have 90 targeted views, than 900 untargeted views.

I'm sure if those 900 visitors are same as the 180.
You would have made tons of sales.

How do you get targeted views though, both ads were almost identical?

Was it the wording of the fiverr ads or catagory placement ?

No both ads were used in the same category and placement.

Ad keywords were slightly different but we even swapped ads around from time to time to see if that made any difference.

      But it did not.

It is possible you got in on the tail end of the books shelf life.

What was your satisfaction scores on the book .. this could make a big difference

I've heard trying to build some SEO back links to your Fiverr gigs helps, but I've never done much on Fiverr. But I don't think that would help people find it within the Fiverr searches. I'm more of a buyer on that site than a seller so I haven't tried it myself.

Feedback has a lot to do with it. On a site like Fiverr even more so than on other sites where you have posted services or goods for sale. When I first started out as a seller on Fiverr nearly a year ago, it took a while for my one gig to get noticed. Then, as people started to buy and then leave feedback, the frequency of my sales grew, to the point where I have had to suspend my gig because of becoming overwhelmed with orders (I rewrite articles as my gig).

But then, I have tried placing other gigs, and got next to nothing.

What I suggest is finding a similar gig that has succeeded and analyze for yourself why that gig sells and your son's does not (or even yours, for that matter, other than the one or two sales per month.) It could be as was suggested by Chase, links coming to your gig from outside the site. Traditional marketing methods, SEO included, also work on Fiverr to bring attention to your gig. Maybe paying a bit extra to be featured, or adding a video describing your ebook for sale will help bring attention to it more.

The thing about marketing is testing. If you aren't getting the results you desire or expect, change one element by adding to, altering, or taking away from your advertising method. If the tags on Fiverr (which only benefits onsite visitors, not search engines) are not enough to get the views you want, then step outside the site and put other marketing practices into play.

    Hope this helps,

    Dennis

People are more suspicious to buy new gigs, specially when someone with feedback is already selling it somewhere else.

He might added his gig on a time of a peak at fiverr and this is why it got more views, but the fact that the same ebook sold by people have 100% feedback will give him just a hard time.
