How Many Affiliates Do You Get From Networks?

I am setting up an affiliate program for my main site and due to the fact that I am using 3 shopping carts on the same site to handle GBP, USD & EUR without converting to a base currency so I am going to use a third party network.

I know that once I choose I will be tied in as moving affiliates from one network to another will be problematic, so I want to choose the right one.

My question though is how many affiliates can I expect to pick up (assuming my product is good and competitive - which it is) just from being listed on the affiliate network?

If the answer is that I probably wont pick up many affiliates just browsing the network then I will go with the network whose system and support I like best.

If I can expect to pick up lots of affiliates just by joining a network then I want to make sure I choose the network that will get me the most affiliates.

Right now I really like Shareasale. Their support was really responsive and knowledgeable when I asked them some technical questions and got back to me right away. The majority of other networks I talked to didn't even bother responding.

Can anyone share their experiences of listing the site of a network and having new affiliates join their program?

Many thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if you've used Clickbank or Paydotcom yet, but you will get alot of people promoting your products if you put it on these sites. To track how much affiliates you have for Clickbank, you can buy Adrian Ling's affiliate management software. It's an awesome product. Paydotcom will show you how much affiliates you have whenever you do a simple search in your database.

I also recommend ClickBank. I've always received my money on time, and there are plenty of affiliates, although you'll still get your best results when you recruit some of your own from outside the existing ClickBank network.

Clickbank isn't suitable for my site. I have around 300 products, voucher discount systems and my own payment gateways.

The type of network I am talking about is one where they handle link tracking and monitor sales with a pixel. Like CJ, Affiliate window etc..
