Getting Started - Physical Product Affiliate Program

As you can see, I am new to posting to this forum. Although this is my first post, I have been reading the forum for months. I'd like to thank each of you for providing me with helpful information.
After 8 months, I finally have a physical product that I am selling using Shopify. Now I am off to the challenging part - marketing. I currently run ads on Adwords, Youtube, Amazon and Bing. Conversion rates have been very very low as my product is extremely niche. The product is a down alternative comforter called the Twovét™. This comforter was designed with a warm (thick) side and a cool (thin) side to satisfy different sleeping preferences. The product sells for $199.
Over the next few months, I'd like to grow my affiliate program. Currently, I have one interior designer who is doing a product review post with a corresponding affiliate link. I found this affiliate by simply emailing her.
Below are a few questions related to this process:
1. What is the best process to gain affiliates? I am currently using wigify as my affiliate program. It doesn't appear that the network is too expansive but there is no initiation fee. Are affiliate directory submissions helpful? Likewise, are the networks for programs such as shareasale.com worth the initiation fee for a product like this?
2. My program pays 10% per sale ($20). Does this seem like a reasonable percentage for a physical product?
I'm open to any other suggestions that you may have as this is relatively new to me. Thank in advance for reading through this.
