Little Help with an Email List Debacle??

Hey so maybe someone can point me in the right direction here? One of my clients let their Aweber account lapse last month (like it got totally DELETED), and come to find out the back up of their list has only names and emails...

I tried to explain the situation, and get Aweber (I also contacted Get Response) to let us re-upload, but no joy.

What would you suggest I do in this situation? I need to:

1. get an email out to all those people (its around 5000)
2. get the most of them possible to open, read, and re-optin to the list

:-s

Any awesome ideas???

thanks

P.S. I just tried using one of those bulk mail softwares, but it gave me an estimated delivery time of 900 hours.....and then crashed my computer......that was $79 down the !$@*&#$n' drain

But if anyone knows one of those softwares that works.....I'm all ears :-)

For mailing to those kinds of lists, I use WorldMerge, from Colorado Software. Been using it for years. The only thing you have to be careful of in the later versions is to make sure you have the default encoding specified, or you'll end up with problems. Set it to Western European (ISO 8859-1), and it'll be fine.

I recommend not using more than 12 threads at a time, or you're almost certain to get your mail deferred at Yahoo. Might happen anyway, and it gets delivered eventually, but the DSNs are a pain.

The program works like a champ.
