After about 4 years I've just noticed there's a Sleep
button on my keyboard. I'd like to use it at night but this would conflict with a scheduled run which performs an offline backup. In Scheduled Tasks/Settings there is an option ==> Wake the computer to run this task I assume this will allow the run to proceed ? Also would my PC go back to sleep again when the run ends? Harvey |

Harvey, if you have a USB keyboard or mouse it could lead to a problem according to this:
Use this registry file to enable S3 sleep mode in Windows XP, from George Ou - Downloads - TechRepublic I have also seen where people wrote about not being able to wake their computer with a USB keyboard and/or mouse. I know it didn't answer your question but just wanted you to be aware. |

Thanks for this question as it reminded me of my own similar one.
With my laptop sometimes I just put the screen down (which I assume puts it into "sleep mode"). If I leave it this way say overnight etc. is there anything bad that may come of doing this? ie. does it fragment up my machine etc. Any insight appreciated. |
