Being a Naive African child I never knew I can make it this big :)

I love article writing. This is why I do it for money. Apart from that I am so much into internet marketing and every other day am thinking of how to upgrade my internet skill. Within two years I have been able to put up two blogs which I am very proud of.

I am turning 20 this year. A 20 year in my country is very young This is the time that you should be doing your college! You are still under your parents custody and everyone else still calls you a kid......

You can be assured of getting through education by 25 and get to work. Then have a stable (income/life) and probably get married in your late 20's or early 30's. Well this is Africa

There is one thing that I am very proud of. THE WARRIOR FORUM. I have been able to start up my own outsourcing company from here. It has now been running for the last four months. I have never worked anywhere else and I have also not run any other company so you can guess that this was a real challenge to me in the first months. I remember how tough it was with my first client and I eventually lost him.

Today I am not only proud of the little success I have attained but also of the many lives I am changing. Last year alone I was able to get four jobless youths and give them jobs. With only three computers and my laptop we were able to produce twenty articles daily (around 10,000 words).

This year I have added three more into the working team. Making it a total of seven employees! It may seem a small number for what I am calling a "company" but trust me I am so happy to see people making a living from it. This is a great achievement in my hunger stricken country putting in mind that this is all being done by a college student J

I have a few challenges one of them being that I cannot withdraw money from paypal.

The other is that I don't get consistent jobs. At times I have to operate under capacity and hence end up making big loses. Anyway this happens with every business.

The greatest of all challenges is that most people still think that Africans are primitive. The moment I mention that I am African they just vanish to nowhere. The truth is that if we are given a chance we can do better and greater things.
All in all I am not seeking for pity only wanted to share my success story and encourage everyone on this forum.

This year I want to give it a better shot and try more ways among them being creating websites.........

I ENJOY BEING FORUM AND IT HAS CHANGED MA LIFE

Great post! Anyone can do anything if they put their mind to it. Granted, it is more challenging for those who don't have easy access to the same resources that many of us take for granted, but you have proven that where there is a will, there is a way. Good on you, you should be very proud of yourself

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that's how things work in Europe too.

    Anyway, congrats with your achievement!

Inspirational story, Mashaa. It just shows that anybody anywhere can succeed at making money on the internet if they put enough effort, hard work and thought into it. It's great that you are helping out others in your country too. I strongly believe the internet can play a huge role in providing employment to people in developing countries in Asia and Africa. Great job!

Awesome story dude. Greetings from Johannesburg, South Africa.
Nothing is impossible with the right dedication and determination.

I've been doing IM for years now and have run into the same problems as you. Granted SA is not that much hunger stricken, it was still a challenge to make things happen. But alas with the right attitude and perseverance you can achieve anything.

Thanks for sharing your story. Was great to read. Wishing you all the best of success and profits in the future

Don't tell people that you are African, unless they ask. I don't tell any of my clients where I live, unless they ask me. Be judged by the quality of your work, not by the place where you live.

Good luck for the future, though. You seem to be well on your way to a successful career!

Its nice to see someone working so hard to create a better lifestyle for themself and the people around them.

I am a little confused though, what do you mean by outsourceing company? Do you outsource projects to other companies and take profits or do you actually do the outsourcing yourself?

    Thanks,
    -Michael

The internet has just opened up so many doors it's not even comprehensible. People can do things from places that were not possible before everyone went online. It's so inspirational to see someone succeed from a place that isn't necessarily thought of as prosperous. Good luck to you sir, I wish you nothing but success and prosperity.

I've rarely promoted my services in my home-country. Not because here businesses are reluctant to spend. But because small businesses here are mostly run by families. You need to meet and convince literally the whole family to close the deal.

In my early days I tried hard to go for local businesses. Met a gynecologist who forwarded my proposal to her son studying in a medical school. He replied to my query after one month and the follow up e-mail after another 15 days. Similar thing happened with a jeweler whose son approved the deal after returning from honeymoon. A politician wanted me to work on his website only if I met his youth party members in his office for 1 month or so to understand the work culture of his political party. lol

The main issue is that the old guys at helm are technologically challenged here.

Internet is wonderful indeed; 90% of my business come from abroad now.

Both my parents were born in East Africa and two of my dad's sisters still live there (one in SA and one in Kenya).

I've been to Africa several times and I personally think it's misrepresented in the media. Yes, there is poverty but there is more to the continent then water droughts and starving kids with swollen bellies and flies buzzing around their mouths.

There is serious wealth in Africa - I've seen it. Where there is opportunity, there is money. Doesn't matter where you live...
