Recession and Buyers - A Poll to see what YOU do?

From the Grapevine I hear that many of the high ticket gurus are struggling to sell their products like they used to. I hear that many have had financial issues and had to lay off staff......So, Here's my question.

Are you buying to day like you to 1 year ago? 2 years ago? 3 Years ago?

What was the last "Big" guru launched product that you just HAD to have over say $1499?

and here's the BIG QUESTION:

If you were in the Gurus Shoes, What would you do different?

I'm kinda surprised at how many here have chosen not to say ANYTHING - Does that mean that most of the people here are WANNABEES???

I think if you are offering a quality product at an affordable price you can still make a good living at this.

I have noticed that a lot of the "gurus" are going to huge price tag items. I'm talking $1000 plus. And this seems to be a trend that is catching on. Put a high price tag on it and then put a limit on the quantity sold. Then open it back up in a month or so.

I have been focusing on more affordable priced items that over deliver and then add a membership site with monthly subscription.

Also, if you keep your info products tightly focused and affordable, you can then have an opportunity to sell to these same customers again.

So, you have one book on article marketing, one on PPC, one on product creation.

Let them absorb these steps in digestible chunks then give them some more.

Build a life long customer base so you don't have to worry as much.

Some "gurus" get stuck on one topic and rehash the same info once a year or so with a couple updates. The rest of the time they are selling other "guru" products to their list.

And as with any business online or off, you need to have a hand in more than one revenue stream. I personally have several niche sites that cover everything from info products to cars. If you have a wide range of markets to draw from you can see a steady stream of income.
