Questions about Facebook. (Why Experts are not Active on their FB page?)

I have few questions about Facebook Marketing. Right now, I am in video marketing but want to check FB marketing also. I was checking FB fan pages of Authoritative IM's, I found out that they are not so active on their FB fan pages; Why? I am probably wrong... but I am only asking what I noticed, according to my knowledge. Facebook Traffic/Marketing is valuable? Is it good to build list through facebook? And, How do you compare the subscribers lists of Facebook, Article Marketing, and Video Marketing (YouTubE)... Which one is more profitable and valuable?

  • Here's why: because Facebook marketing (other than Facebook PPC) along with most of Social Media marketing is not an efficient way of making money. There's tons of hype about Facebook marketing, but too little real "dough".

I agree with AA above. If you think about why most people get on Facebook, it's because they want to check out their friends status, play a game, change their status, upload pictures and so on - not to click on marketing links. As a matter of fact, I am somewhat blind to the ads. Oh yeah, I see 'em but I never click on them. I guess some people do.

As far as comparing lists - I would suggest sending traffic from each of those options to different squeeze pages and checking to see which one is better.

You can't sell people on Facebook. If you enjoy talking about your niche and love social media, you can make a fortune on Facebook. I don't have the link but you can search "The Problem With Women Is Men" to see a great example of guy making a killing off Facebook. FB PPC works really well if you know how to target your audience and get ads approved. It can be a big PIA too.

That's because they are ignoring the relationship side of their business......some marketers have it just to say they do....

Check out Ryan Lee's page....check out Lewis Howes.....they are actively using facebook....

Those that don't are ignoring it's potential!

    Regards

Facebook is a great tool to use to keep up with your followers, I do not market on it very much at all. It is a social platform and you sort of lose your bond when you cross the line.

My family follows me on FaceBook and the people with whom I have a real business relationship.

So, I don't do anything on FaceBook that could be perceived as spamming, and I certainly don't use it to sell affiliate products.

Instead, I use FaceBook to cultivate relationships with people whom I consider important in my home life and business.

If I want to chase strangers on FaceBook, I do it thru paid advertising.

The important thing with facebook when using it as a marketer is to do so using a page.....you can actually use facebook as a page and comment on peoples posts and on other pages.....so family members and colleagues can be totally oblivious to your marketing efforts...

Are You sure? But, as far as I know, I read in many posts that it's great to build a list through your page? I am not confident on it; I just want to know about the experiences. You probably right but I never heard this before.

I wasn't implying that at all.

What you do with FaceBook is YOUR business.

What I do with FaceBook is MY business.

For me, FaceBook is for building serious relationships with serious people -- people who would run from me if I used my FaceBook wall as a marketing platform.

The people who follow me in FaceBook ARE NOT in my target market, and I would be a fool to advertise to them.

The original question is why serious marketers are not actively marketing on FaceBook, and that is the question I answered.

Think the big gurus don't post much on Facebook because the dollars per hour of their time spent is NOWHERE near what it is from, say, speaking at an event or even just working on FB ads to build a list or Fans. The problem is that everyone wants to interact with them but it's more of a customer service/retention role than a marketing role.
