2,000 Clickbank Hops for Customized Fat Loss and ZERO Sales this month...What's going on here??

Hi warriors, I had a sales drop in December for this product from Kyle Leon and it's continuing in January in supposedly the hottest month for weight loss products. I can't understand it, especially since I had a 250% ROI from 9/1/11 through 11/15/11. I exclusively use media buying to get hops, and have had my promotions spread out through various websites since Jan. 1st.

Is there any negative press for CFL that I haven't seen yet or is someone totally under-cutting the price out there?? I was expecting at least one sale, and I've been shooting air balls.

If it is the case that this product isn't selling anymore, any recommendations for other weight loss products that are converting well right now?

Thanks for any feedback!!

I had an ok month. Not too many sales but 2000 hops and no sales is not good at all. Where are you getting traffic from? Make sure you have a targeted source of traffic. If you are buying this traffic then you are probably losing money!

    Hi Doc,

You sending the traffic straight to CFL or are you sending them to a squeeze page first?

If you are sending them straight to the offer consider sending them to a squeeze page first to at least be able to get back to them using an autoresponder sequence....

Other than that you might want to look at the quality of the traffic?

Have you had any orderform impressions?
Have you checked the vendors page? Have they changed anything?

    Regards

    Chris

I've been targeting 45+ yrs. men in the U.S. who have a bachelor's degree, and then direct link them to the CFL.com sales video. It was working really well last year, but then totally fell off late in November until today. Not sure what's happened.

      Any other ideas??

Target women. Trust me, they spend vastly more money on weight loss products than men do.

That is that women are faster to be tempted (emotionally). Fix yourself a psychological triggering sales letter that suits the needs of this targeted group and you are good to go.

That is really odd that you are getting so many hops with no sales. There has got to be something wrong with the tracking. Especially if you were getting a lot of sales with the same campaign before this. Go through all of your stats and see if you can find something thats wrong

Agreed that thorough checking is to be done if a profitable campaign suddenly plummets to zero sales overnight... try changing some elements of your campaign and split test for better results.

That's weird because for your niche this should be a busy season. Gyms and fitness clubs report their highest earnings in January thanks to everyone's new years resolution to lose weight.

I've heard this before also! It was on a list of things not to buy during the holidays and new years due to gym memberships and fitness clubs raising their price, because of the rush.

Is that number of 2,000 hops correct, last week on my clickbank dashboard one of my sites suddenly showed 501 hops in a day no sales.

Checked my AWstats the site never had that many visitors.

I think clickbank might have had a bit of a glitch last week.

I have also noticed that I am getting less and less sales from clickbank as well. I am losing more and more faith in CB every day to be honest. I have sent a 1000 hops in the last week without any sales, this time last year I would have got at least 5 to 8 sales from that, this year zero.

Also this time of the year should be the most effective time to promote customized fat loss. However I checked my notes and have wrote "customized fat loss - bad convertor" because I think I had a go with it a while back and it didn't seem to convert too well.

    Maybe switch to dieting solution?

Okay, I just pulled all of my numbers from CFL.com and Clickbank and here's what they look like:

      9/11/11 - 12/8/11: 11,122 Hops, 29 Transactions and $1,082 in Sales

12/9/11 - Present: 4,136 Hops, ZERO Transactions and ZERO in Sales

Seems very strange, even with the holidays factored in. Also, I've been buying media on the same sites without much variation. I use Adsonar and Blogads primarily to purchase ads. I've sent emails to both CFL and CB companies to see what's going on.

I'll keep you posted, although I expect both to say it's most likely sales variance and to continue promoting (and burning through ad dollars too!!) and things will even out. Frustrating

our dietry stuff has doubled and normally great in January as people are trying to get rid of their Xmas pudding guts and beer bellies. Infact I use those two terms in some of our marketing terms. Janurary so far has been killer.

Did they change the landing page, maybe with some kind of "enter your email here" offer effectively circumventing affiliate tracking?

I'd think that it's one of the personal details that could be causing it. Check how your ads are showing up (on other computers too) and what pages they are showing up. Make sure nothing's changed so it's still targeting correctly. The second thing I'd take a look at would be your website, followed by the page of the product. If it's none of those things, there could be a minor thing like the date of your squeeze page being outdated (if it shows) or something which would be easier to solve by having a friend follow the process of finding your ad, clicking on it, reading your page and going through the product landing page. That could really help in terms of how people are viewing it. One last thought: I'm not a Clickbank pro but when I built an affiliate website, the % of buyers going to the product page was much higher. If that's not the norm, see if your target is targeted enough. .002% is quite low.

I had a record month of sales in December and January is starting out great for me. First thing make sure there is no "leakage". Check your hops to make sure any vendor's autoresponder messages doesn't overwrite your cookies. Simply opt-in their mailing list then wait for a sales email asking you to click a link. Click buy button and check bottom to see if your affiliate id shows. If not, the vendor is stealing your commissions by overwriting your cookies with theres. Sneaky vendors will also be affiliates for their own products as well. Hope this helps.

that sucks.... wonder if they did anything to the video you were promoting... sometimes they test new stuff... works for them, but not for you specifically.

    so i'd ask them.

on the other hand... celente... i'm also in the weight loss niche (free trial)... is that what you do as well?

Yeah, those hop to sales counts seem really low. I sell a 'diet' product and average one sale for every 25 hops. My hops are all targeted and the sales pages are leak free and high quality.

I would check to make sure you are getting targeted, quality traffic and then I would check for leaks on the sales page and then just evaluate the sales page. Would you buy from it?

Yea, I know the hop to sales count is really low. I was worried about that as well. However, I spent less $300 on the ad buys to make $1,000+ in sales. I guess when you do direct linking you have really no control of the final result and are at the mercy of the vendor.

January is the best month for weight loss. I have my own weight loss product, so I know what I'm talking about. Don't listen to anyone who says that it's ok to make no sales with this kind of traffic.

I looked at the sales page of CFL, and I was not impressed. Did they change something recently? Maybe it was better before?

The reason why I really don't like their sales page (that shows up from the hoplink) is that giant video on top. I couldn't figure out right away that I need to scroll down the page past that video to see the sales letter (and I'm a pretty advanced computer user).

Who has the patience to sit there and listed to all that talk? I wanted to skip a video, so I was clicking on it And it didn't take me anywhere. I'm sure that's what the typical user does, and leaves the site at that point.

If the sales copy didn't change, did you traffic sources change? Could it be that your traffic is not as targeted now and lower quality than it was before?

January-March has always been a peak season for the weight loss niche. What the OP may have experienced is undifferentiated "window shopping" by potential customers, as indicated by the poor response and also coincidentally the huge numbers of SERPs showing up for these keywords. Direct promotional methods such as email marketing or "recommendations" within niche publications seems to produce the highest conversions.

Hi all, here's a new update for you, and as a result I'm ready to jump ship from Customized Fat Loss. Since 12/9/11 to the present I've had the following numbers: 6,550 Hops, 43 Order form impressions, 5 Order form submits and ZERO sales. I can't be this unlucky, especially after the hot 2 1/2 months I had before that time. Also, I've been placing media buys on the same blogs/websites, and I'm sure their readership hasn't changed that drastically over the past 6 weeks. I've also added some PPC on Facebook and Bing/Yahoo, but with no success (and just more money being burned through!).

So, if anyone has any new recommendations for weight loss products that are selling well right now, please let me know as I'm very open to suggestions.

Thanks for all of the help!

A product I've been having consistent success with is finalphasefatloss by John Romaniello. This is only the beginning of the peak season, and subscribers are particularly receptive to related books, equipment, and supplements on Amazon. Taking Valentine's Day into account, it's a major cash cow at least through March.

I would have jumped ship by now based on these stats you provided earlier:

    9/11/11 - 12/8/11: 11,122 Hops, 29 Transactions and $1,082 in Sales
12/9/11 - Present: 4,136 Hops, ZERO Transactions and ZERO in Sales
    That's a LOT of traffic you're sending.

You're using a self-hosted redirect to drive the traffic, right?
If so, try rotating 2-3 offers to see which one performs best.
