Some Tips as a Thank You (1000th Post)

I've been away from WF for a while now, focusing on work and my family, but now I'm back to learn more and further expand my business.

For my 1000th post I would just like to take some time to say thank you to everyone at WF. This community has been so supportive. Thanks to everything I have learned here I have gone from a house wife, struggling to find a way to keep her family afloat, to... well... I'm still a house wife. The difference is that there isn't nearly as much of a struggle. I have my own business and I enjoy every minute of working without missing out on spending time with my family. Honestly, WF has made my dreams come true.

As a thank you, I'd like to share some thinks of learned in my journey and encourage you to share as well. This community stands strong because it is a group of people learning from each other!

So, to start it out, my first 5 tips to becoming successful in Internet marketing.

1. Lists are your friend. Lots of lists. Make lists of what needs to be done. It is so easy to miss a step that could ruin all of your hard work. Something as simple as forgetting to add a link to an email you are sending or not running spell check on your product can really hurt your efforts.

2. Document what you do so you know where you can improve next time. Take some time to write out steps you take when working on a product or website. When you are done, take some time to look over those steps. Where can you improve? What can you do better? Can you do things in a different order to get things done faster?

3. Don't stop learning. There is always so much to learn about IM. The key is focused learning though. If you are making adsense sites, don't start downloading books about ClickBank. Look for products about SEO, keywords, and things like that. Focus on your business method before you move onto the next one.

4. Be consistent. The key is to be consistent with your work. Many newbie Internet marketers will sit down and work for 12 hours for a few days and then just avoid work for a few weeks. This isn't the best way to get results! Try and squeeze in at least a little time to work at least 5 days a week to keep your mind on your goal. Of course you don't want to go overboard, but it is too easy to get distracted from IM and fall behind.

5. Don't be afraid to outsource! Even if your profits are low, taking some of those profits and spending them to speed up your business is a great plan. Does it take you hours to write even one article of average quality? How about spending a little money to hire a writer or buy some PLR to rewrite. Remember, time is money. Personally, I like to hire a part time VA to handle random tasks like article submission or backlink creation because I would prefer to spend my time on other aspects of my business. You can find very affordable VAs if you take some time.

I have many more tips but I'd love to hear some of yours before I share my next set!

And once again, thank you WF!

My best VA started charging $1.50 an hour. I've since increased their pay to $5 an hour because they are great, but VAs can be found very affordable. They started out with 10 hours a week, increasing as I had more work for them.

If you do go for a cheaper VA, expect to spend some time training them though. That was no issue for me because they were my first VA and I wanted to get to know them, but it may be an issue for others. I've seen VAs charging around $3/hr that seem to know what they are doing for most SEO tasks.

I usually hire from the Philippines craigslist or oDesk.

Congrats on your 1,000th post, Amanda. It's good to see you back. I was wondering where you were

I think number 4 is one of the most important steps for building any business. It's also one of the hardest for newbies to follow.

My husband's grandma was hospitalized for the last month so I ended up breaking away from work while I stayed in Seattle with her. Now that she is finally on the road to recovery I can get focused again and try and make up for how far behind I am.

I know I've sure fallen behind with the consistency thing! Making up for it now. Been writing new PLR like a madman to get some new packs out for my list.

    Hi Amanda,

Point #3 (Which I quoted above) is a very
important point for a lot of people especially
here on the forum. A lot of people don't take
action on the things that they purchase, because
quite simply, they've purchased EVERY METHOD
    and never implemented one...

They bounce around from topic to topic, more
then I bounce around in a chair while doing talk
shows (And I bounce around a lot... heh)

If you give yourself a FOCUS, and GO AT ONE
thing hard... only buy training that will help you
with that ONE THING. I can 100% guarantee that
you will achieve some sort of success with internet
    marketing...

Sure, you can branch out once you take action on
one thing, and have it set up.. but don't buy other
    things until you've finished one...

It's like grabbing a second burger at dinner before
    eating the first one.

    To Your Success,

    Caleb

I think both of these are wonderful pieces of advice

#1 I couldn't do anything if I didn't make lists - I would get very lost and off track.

#2. I really need to do this more. I find myself trying to remember how I did something in the past and wishing I had notes.

Thanks for the share and congratulations on 1000 posts!

I like to have the steps to tasks I do a lot. For instance, I have a checklist I made for my PLR shop that lists the steps to checking over each pack before I upload it. I printed them out, 4 to a sheet of paper since they are fairly small, and made a pad of them.

It starts out with things like proofreading each article and goes over everything from including the readme to remembering to link to the new pack on G+. This means I never have to worry about missing a step.

Congrats Amanda! I was wondering do you think you could share your checklist for PLR as a cheatsheet or something? I definitely will pay for it and I'm sure there are several PLR marketers here who would. What do you think?

Fiverr is great for a lot of things. I have all of my simple graphics done there.

Personally I love Warriors for Hire. I get great quality there since you see tons of reviews and many people realize how much of an asset a good reputation on Warrior Forum is.

Yup. Link to the shop is in my sig. While I was staying with my husband's family I did some writing but didn't upload packs. I have a bunch of packs that are going to be released in the next two weeks including a Valentine's Day pack, a bunch of relationship packs, some network marketing packs, an anxiety and panic attack pack, and some video game packs.

I'll be busy putting out a bunch of PLR for a while!

I have to be honest, my sales are doing pretty well between ClickBank, Fiverr, and my PLR shop. I'm not even sure of the exact number at this point but I do know I'm just as excited for each sale as I was for the first one I ever made. Wonder if that ever wears off? I hope not.

I've thought about it but I'm just not that interested in getting into the IM niche. I am however starting an IM blog to share what I've learned. I'm pretty excited.

      Here is another tip:

Take a day and actually keep track of what you do. There are many programs that can do it for you... keep track of how much time you spend on each website. Time yourself on tasks.

      Two things will happen.

      1. You will get things done faster. When you can see that timer you just tend to work faster.

      2. You'll see how much time you actually spend working.

You have any idea how long I used to spend checking my email, stats, and Facebook instead of actually working? I'd end the day feeling like I had been working all day but in reality only a few hours was me actually focusing on my work, the rest was just switching between forums and email.

Great tips and love to hear success stories.

Lists are so important for all of us. They are the goals that we set and the way we can mark are progress to are goals.

Your point on being consistant with your work is one of the biggest problems for anything in life. People need to form habits and that is very hard to do. That is where your list can help you. Set the goal, write the list and check of each thing you do each day. It is the small steps that will get you threw to the big ending.

Learning has to be an ongoing process. The Internet is changing with new things almost every day. Once a person has the basic foundations of there business set up. Then we just need to learn how to market what we are selling. It is best to find a group that is up to date with what is going on and learn as you go.

I look forward to reading more of your posts and the best of luck this new year.
