Brand new blog, ideas?

I have 3 sites that are intended for my businesses, this blog is something I started today first of all as a project where I post something creative every day for a year (and I plan to keep going after a year, but rework how I express myself.)

So, it is a poetry, creative writing, personal development and expression blog. I only have one post so far.


This is very different from my other sites in that it is based on my creative work.


I guess I am wondering how to drive traffic to it besides Facebook and Twitter? and if anyone has any ideas for down the line when I have traffic to monetize?

    Think about finding the most popular blogs in your niche and start commenting and asking authors for guest posting. This is the best method for directed traffic.

    Also, find forums in your niche, start to provide a good info and place a link to your blog in signature.

    If it's traffic you're looking for, market the new personal blog like you would any other site. Just be sure to use the right marketing tactics for your niche.

    For instance, if you write poetry, you could try submitting some of your work to writing groups for review or submit it for some kind of award.

    For art, show off your portfolio on sites like deviantart or others. Get yourself accounts on flickr and other photo sites and build your networks of followers on there, etc.

    Always use original and unique content. Your keyword must be relevant to your title and to tour site. You can also submit your blog to high page rank websites like squidoo, tumbler, wordpress. Use good quality backlinks to increase the traffic on your site.
