Stop wasting time and get started!

This post simply had to be made.

The short version for those of you who don't have time to read a whole post:

Stop reading posts after post, buying course after course, and actually DO something.

You people who do this are frickin' NUTS! Your plan is to follow every guy who calls him or herself a 'guru' and hope for miraculous results. Keep dreamin' kid.

There's true gold on this forum, mostly in the form of experienced and wise individuals who have been through every kind of internet marketing problem you could dream up. If you've got a problem, ask them!

Either that, or do some digging around the forum for some valuable posts. Whatever problems you've had, someone else has had it before you. The amount of wishy-washy, piss-poor posts I'm seeing on this forum these days is pretty incredible.
Your time is your most precious commodity (whether people believe it's money or not - it isn't.) Stop wasting it by messing around, reading hype from people who don't even have proof of actual success.

I keep hearing of people buying tons of courses, all hundreds and thousands on different IM courses and they're not getting anywhere.

Why?

I'll tell you why...because most of the advice given is generally ignored and/or not acted upon. These guys want something easy - they think I.M is simple. They think you can jump online, make a website (or pay a few bucks to have someone make one for you) and the money will simply flow in.

It's not that bleeding easy!

Whether you believe it or not, business is hard work, at least in the beginning. You can't expect to be making a hundred dollars a day right from the get-go.

Some newbies realise this, and as a result they sit on here waiting for someone to come and give them the hidden secrets to making millions instantly. Again...keep dreamin' kid.

Listen to me. No one is going to give you a secret way to generate millions in the next day, as much as the 'guru's try and sell that crap to you. Stop believing this ridiculous hype.

Right, now you've been told. Stop lurking around the forum, and wasting your precious time. Focus on one area of internet marketing, and direct all your attention to it. If it messes up and flops, simply find something else. What I'm trying to say is, stop spreading yourself thin. Go for depth rather than breadth.

Go and get 'em. Your dreams will come true if you work for them.

Ben.

I don't know if there is a thread where people share how much they spent on different products, but it would be quite interesting to hear the numbers.

You're right CharismaticMannequin. But I think that some people must go through it. They just have to realize it by themselves. When we say, don't by those products, and the next day you send them an email saying this is something you should check out... It probably has to make you with $0 in your bank account and only then some people would realize what they should focus on.

I just have to say I agree CharismaticMannequin.

I would love to hear how much people have actually spent on all the products they've bought over the years... I found it hard to believe in the beginning of my experiences in IM 5 years ago that newbies would actually buy product after product never actually focusing on what needed to be done to succeed. Mostly due to the fact I never got distracted on buying when I first started out, but actually focusing on succeeding and it payed of x10000 by not making that mistake.

Just like you said, you can't just buy course after course without implementing anything you've learned from it. The fact is, most of the "methods" and strategies contained in the courses and WSOs do work, but most of the people who buy them don't act upon them. I read somewhere only 5% or so of internet marketers are actually making money and I think this is what is stopping the rest from making it.

It's not that easy, but it's not that hard, too. You don't need to be an expert and know every aspect of internet marketing to be making money, you just need to master one simple technique that makes sense and works and is scalable and stick with it. That's what I advise people to do, master one technique and only after you make it work, move to something else and expand.

      Exactly.

You see these newbies running from one thing to the next, chasing the quickest method to get rich, and getting nowhere.

Jack of all trades, master of none syndrome.

Good point, rileyb @7 :-) exactly what I did with my membership here - our accountant is going crazy with all the bits and pieces I am buying for research online. And this is where I wanted to get - people buy these products without a plan, most of the times. Even scarier, they are too lazy or probably ashamed to ask for a refund when the product is not meeting expectations. On the other hand, I have to do a lot of research when qualifying investments, so I accept I have to buy someone else's dogfood and taste it, see if they are truly worth throwing even more money in. But... if you're buying products part of a research project, you still have to have a budget and clear objectives - and "making money online with some product" is not effective, just like the OP said. Try more along the lines of "I will research effective blogging monetization products for up to 100USD worth of products over the next 2mo" and make sure you try to get the best price (coupons, WSOs, resell rights etc) for any purchase that approaches 10% of your budget (in this case, if you are asked for less than 10USD for a product, don't bother too much with a discount - but if asked 40USD, try to get that down towards 60%). It's a basic rule that applies in all risky investments - be it gambling, options or penny stocks - and it helps cap your losses and keeping you true to your goal.

Very good thread for early January, CM!

I strongly agree that we should not always stick to reading and researching some gold nuggets here on Warrior Forum.

Action is what we're here for, just do it.

    Great post.

Most of the people who started Internet Marketing (Including me)
jumps from one site to another site, looking for ways to make money online
    the easy way!

You read all the internet sales letter "Make 6 figure income working blablabla" and go ahead and buy that product.

After reading that product you are all hype up and ready to start making money online. Unfortunately, statistic shows that motivation last at most 3 days until it eventually dies down.

After a week, you tell yourself that this doesn't work and you go ahead to purchase another product.

Why not just sit down and stick to one plan! Take action according to your plan.

I saw a gentleman reply on hear yesterday that they were not on the warrior forum over 6 to 7 hours a day. I was thinking then "How do they ever think they can make money hitting the boards only.

I haven't bought a wso or info product in a long time (Jeremy and Don's products don't count because they are an addiction that can't be helped) but do buy software and hardware to help automate certain processes (Damn you Big Mike lol) but every thing I buy in that capacity has improved my business by giving me more time to do other things.

  • Troy,

I'm in total agreement with you. How can you expect to get total success if you're simply lurking around a forum all day?

    Simple: you CAN'T.

Get off the board, and explore other avenues of potential customers.

  • Very true indeed. It's so easy to read and read and read without taking any action. Get in there and make mistakes. That's the only way you learn, and the only way you will start making money online.
