How to get started in IM

Hello everyone,
My Name is Pavel and I am fairly new to this forum and to the subject of Internet Marketing. And I want to ask you guys for an advise.

What should I (a complete newbie) start with?

I've purchased 80 different WSOs, on different subjects (Azon, FB, Webinars, List Building, WP sites and plug-ins, Mobile Sites, keyword software and many other things). I've read through 5 or 6 reports and I understood the concepts that the authors are talking about, but in order to implement them I need more basic tutorials (I fill like I am back in the first grade trying to study Algebra or Calculus).

What would be a "Correct Gradient" approach to learning about IM without getting overwhelmed and confused?

I would really appreciated your advise.
Thank you.

If you purchased so many wso then I suggest you to go through them one more time and find one that offer some kind of step by step instructions and start working. You can also read posts at main warrior forum. You will learn a lot. It is not important how many wso's you bought. Main thing is if you use them. The key to online success is ACTION. You can read the best information all day long, but if you don't work hard and use these information then you will not make money online. It all depends on you. Stop reading and start working. Now! Today!

      Thank you for your reply.
I want to clarify, I am not just reading, I tied to build an WP auto-blog by following instructions in one of the guides, flippaguide.net and I think I did pretty good for my first blog, but for some reason the WP-Robot did not put my amazon, adsense and CB referral links in (if shows products, it pules them from the sites because I entered the affiliate info but when the "buy now" button is clicked it opens an error 404 page, and SEO is not in that guide, it has instructions on how to install the "SEO all in one" WP plug-in and it says where to enter Title, Description, Meta Tags and keywords (but i don't know what is the difference between mete tags and keywords, and what is the right way to find keywords that get a lot of searches and have low competition? And I've read in another guide that for a website to rank high it must have a lot of backlinks and if I swap links with another site where do I put up the links I was sent by the other website owner, not on my home page I hope?
Most of the WSOs (I did'n read all of them) assume that the reader will have some basic knowledge about all this stuff.
Any suggestions where I can find this basic knowledge?
Is there an IM encyclopedic of some type where i can find the answers to all my silly questions?

    Pavel,

If you really purcahsed 80 different WSOs, personally, I'd recommend that put a "hold" on all purchases...pick just one on a topic of interest....read it, then start applying it....

I think you should start with affiliate marketing (if you do not have an info product of your own). If you search this forum, there are so many threads giving out advice. But like the other posters have said, if you have bought that many WSO's maybe you should take some time away from the forum and read them. Pick one that appeals to you and work hard at implementing what it says. If you are searching for a red button in IM, sorry. There isn't any. You have to work. HARD.

I do have one info product, I got it on Flippa with a website and the exclusive PLR rights (its on the first page on google #5 from the top for keywords "flippa guide") and all that and it's selling little by little but the only thing I managed to do with it is list it on eBay (I do know few things about eBay) but there are so man other things to learn, I just don't know where to start.

There are many ways to make money online, don't get yourself overloaded with informations. Purchasing 80 WSO? omg, that's a lot!

You probably want to start with something you're comfortable and familiar with (only you can answer that yourself), once you have generated profit from it then jump on to another method..

My advise is: Just take action. don't analyse on the method too much because there will be a higher probability that you will procrastinate. Just DO it (Nike's Slogan).. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that analysing is wrong, but just don't over do it

Go thru those 80 wso which you've bought again, see which method makes the most sense to you and just do it.. Action = Results, that's for sure.. whether the results is GOOD or BAD is another issue.. most importantly you will definitely see different results.

Hope this help, may God bless you,
    Jeremiah

P.S. The definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[5396558].message }}
  • Wow! 80 WSO's. What I would say is pick one method and try and stick with it for at least 6 months. Don't jump around. You will be amazed at the results you get when you focus on something solidly for 6 months.

First you will need to decide what you want to do and stick with one. You need to have website to make money. So first you will need to think about getting a website, then plan for marketing the website.

As with most of the other answers, pick one method and see it all the
way through until you make your first $'s.Amazon affiliate marketing
is a good place to start.

Buying 80 WSO's is just going to fry your brain.

      FOCUS and ACTION.

Like most newbies, you have gotten got in the "shiny object" problem of getting every promising product and then getting overwhelmed and doing nothing.

First, realize this is a business and like any business, you need focus and a plan.

Once you have one method, pick a market and niche to focus on and stick with it for months.

Even with all my offline business experience, I got caught up in this as well.

I got similar advice on this forum.

It took my about 1 month to go back to step one on only one method (I chose, list building) before I started making money. Once I made money, I knew I just had to scale it up.

Once a list is pretty much running systematically with the things I do, I then added a totally different niche and did the same thing.

Also, realize that there is no single software or product or service you can buy to build an automatic business for you. There are things that help you along the way, but you really have to ignor all the headlines and just stay focused and persist.

    Good luck.

The first thing you need to do is be aware that this industry is awash with false info, this site is one of the places on the net where you will find honest and genuine advice so stick around on here

Also try to stay focussed and stick to one task at a time, it is very easy to get side tracked and in this game time spent working does not always equal income received, you have to stay focussed and make your time work for you

Think about what you know, what skills you have, and over time as your business builds look to outsource the things you are not so good at

The most important thing to be doing at this stage of the game though is researching which path you are going to take, which niche you are going to follow etc, time spent now researching your niche area will pay dividend ten fold over time, trust me

    All the best
    Steven

In a way you sound like how I started in IM. It sounds like you have enough of a foundation through the WSO's you've purchased to have a working knowledge on what needs to be done.

Now is the time for action. Through the responses given in this thread, you have enough to get started. Exactly what steps to take will evolve through taking action. Exactly what action to take is up to you. You will find that by doing something and keeping the momentum will take you places where you want to go.

I would advice you to first of all get in a Membership/Coaching program.

Specially when you're starting out, you need personal guidence and a step-by-step plan proven to work for anyone, no matter what.

If I were you, I would go to imreportcard.com

They have a "TOP 25" courses/programs section for beginners in IM. You can read testimonials and a full description of all those programs so you can choose the one you like the most.

    Good luck!

    Where to start?

You should start with Affiliate Marketing through Blog

    1. Find your profitable market niche

    2. Buy your domain name

    3. Buy your web hosting server

    4. Get a CMS (content management system) (wordpress.org, joomla)

    5. Buy a premium wordpress theme

    6. Buy a automated mail system (AWEBER, icontract, getresponse and Imnica. Choose one of them, Imnica provide free service for up to 1000 subscriber) Your mailing list is your most important asset to earn you money.

    7. Make an opt-in form in your website and give them free stuff in exchange for their email.

    8. Start posting Blog post for your blog

    9. Once you have at least 5 blog post in your blog, start driving traffic to your blog. (buy PPC advertising on adwords. Since you have so much money to buy so many product this shouldn't be a problem for you.)

10.Signup Google Adsense (incase you had your google adsense ban, use google adsense alternative like chitika, adbride, bidvertiser)

    11. Find product to promote on clickbank and place it in your blog side bar.

If you are lazy to write for your blog, then you can always outsource.
You practically outsource anything. Don't know how to find a profitable niche, you can always go to fiverr.com and type in profitable niche and press "rating" for the best gigs.

Since you are so rich, then it should not be a problem for you to outsource everything.

I am a somewhat newbie like you. About five months ago i enrolled over at the keyword academy to teach me how to build a 1k passive adsense income. I was excited and it was the program that opened my eyes up to the opportunities around the internet. So i worked for it for a two months... Then i got wind of internet marketing. So what did i do? I went ahead and dropped all my attempts with adsense and started with that...shiny-syndrome it is called. After some time, i realised something. It is not the number of programs you apply yourself into... it is what you can stick to until it gives you returns.
I said all that to say that you should go back to the 80(wow) WSOs and pick 1 you enjoy doing and stick to that! Then when you master it, move to the next one.
    Cheers.

Out of everything that you have learned, condense all of that information into 5 core traffic strategies that you can do on a daily basis. You only have so much time in a day to implement everything that you've learned in the products you bought, so your best bet is to take that information, come up with 5 powerful strategies, and just use all of them to the best of your ability.

If you don't want to build a product, create a sales letter, or deal with customers... start with affiliate marketing. And make sure you get a website cause nobody likes raw affiliate links on their website.

      80 WSO's, that's a lot...

...WSO's are great, but watch out for the information overload, put a hold
on your spending for a while and sift through the products you've purchased
choosing which ones interests you the most.

Stick with a few and put them into practice - what will really work best
though is narrowing it down to one subject/topic and trying to make it work for you.

pick one of the 80 that you purchased, the one you most like for whatever reason, then start at step number one if you get stuck on whatever step because it seems to advanced you can search here for the answer because most of those questions have already been asked and answered somewhere on here or just do a quick google search wherever you get stuck like for example if the wso say ok now we are going to load our adsense code into our web page. you woudl go to google and search for what is adsense, how to get adsense code, how to insert adsense to website etc etc etc. like that to any and all questions where you would get stuck on. you can also use youtube as a search engine to get a walkthrough step by step tutorial.

First off, my best advice would be to stop buying WSO. I'm sure it's exciting to purchase things that make you feel like "next month I'll be making $10,000" but it isn't going to happen.

Decide what you are good at, pick one method, and work like crazy until you get to $100 per day. Don't ever loose focus, or give up on your strategy. Make adjustments, tweak a little bit, but don't just quit and jump to something else. This is absolutely vital if you want to have success in this business, or any business for that matter.
