Default Need help with building a list

hello warriors, I have a site focused on american idol, actually had that site for about 6 months but didn't do much with it. I'd like to build a list for that site (the money is in the list and all =p) but I am having problems coming up with what I could offer to people to make them want to sign up (or for that metter what would I send them if they did sign up)

The site is mostly focused on american idol videos, and I just can't seem to come up with something to build a list. Best I can come out with is try to branch out from videos into perhaps auditons for american idol (think there is a product for that on click booth or something) and maybe video games based on american idol.

But I am wondering if any warriors can come up with something better for list building and follow up message's focus.

Is the show still running? If so, you could do like a poll saying "Who will win the next American Idol?" and then they can vote. And then a line saying "To view the results, simply sign up for our newsletter" or something.

Good luck!

The first thing you need to do is keyword research to see what terms are even being searched on for American Idol topics.

http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com (you get 12 free searches per day here)

Can you see you may have picked a niche here that isnt a paying niche?

When your looking for American Idol information are you in a buyers mood? I would guess not but I will reserve judgement.

Find your keywords, then test the keywords. Do this by setting up a squeeze page on the keyword, offering something of value that you assume a person searching on that term could obviously want based on their search. Make sure it's information and make sure its free.

Go to google adwords and set up a google adwords campaign based on that one keyword and set a dollar amount you can handle spending. Make sure your per click spend is high enough that you will be seen by 1-10 in ad rank. This will put your adwords ad in front of page 1 viewers for that keyword until your daily limit is spent.

If your adwords ad invites the visitor to get more,. and the squeeze page also invites the visitor to get more,.. and you give them more than they asked for, and it is valuable and free, you have the door open to a possible buyer/seller relationship with this list.

What you sell them is up to you

Good Luck!
