Managing Large Email List. 800k+

I've been approached by a friend to help maintain a large list of opted-in email names.

Looking for recommendations of email marketing companies that can help manage a list this large.

Many thanks!

    Wow, that's massive.

You can use an auto-responder service, but I bet a self-hosted solution would be cheaper.

Not sure about delivery rates, though.

I see certain warriors on here talking about how they host their own lists and then I notice those very same warriors' emails always end up in my Spam folder.

That's just one anecdote, though. Perhaps somebody who hosts their own list can chip in and let you know.

I would think for such a massive list, though, it's going to be far cheaper to self-host it.

I'd seek out someone like Willie Crawford for advice. He has some large lists and his stuff always makes it into my inbox fine.

If you have the IP's (electronic) address of all email addresses then self hosted will be easier but if not you may have an issue either with importing them or the autoresponder wanting to confirm every email address again (which will lose you some list members). There's the owners of most of the big autoresponders on these very forums so you may get help from them.
