Hey everyone, just getting started

After reading various posts here and throughout the internet I have decided to get into internet marketing. I lost my job last September and I have always been internet savvy and have created multiple websites for the US Federal Government when I worked for them, so I think this is a natural next step for me in earning an income.

I have decided to go with something I am very passionate about, fitness. I started working out about 6 years ago and I was 125 pounds then, I am currently 190 pounds and I have acquired a good amount of knowledge on what works and what doesn't in regards to muscle gain and fat loss. I also want to incorporate a sort of law of attraction angle with this too as far as what the mind can achieve with direct and sustained focus.

I am still learning as much as I can and trying to soak up all the knowledge I can with this time that I have off right now from the work force. I have bought a lot of books on the topic and I can devote at least 9 hours or more a day to this. I am currently on unemployment so I do have some cash flow that can help me out right now.

Is fitness a good niche to go into? I could literally sit here and write for hours about it, so I think that I can eventually become successful with this. Does anyone have any recommendations for me that can aid in my success?

Thanks.

Welcome to Warrior forum! Enjoy your stay here!

Yes, fitness niche can work for you but it's a big niche so be careful and patient... probably you would like to dive into more detailed sub-niche inside fitness... but again, if you stand out with the quality of your products, you could do pretty well...

You've certainly got the right idea...it seems like you are passionate about the fitness ...and even better, you have a personal experience to share, which will really help you in establishing yourself as an authority on the topic.

I agree with Zach, create your own informational products to sell. While you're doing so, you can set up a blog right now to start writing some content and start branding yourself as an expert on your topic.

    Hello,

The fitness niche is a good niche, but it is also a very competitive niche. As another poster mentioned, you will almost certainly need to dive into a sub-niche (such as work-outs for specific areas of the body or nutrition to achieve a specific result). If your knowledge is as specialized as it is vast, you should have no trouble in this arena.

You could start quickly in affiliate marketing by reviewing products or techniques (on a blog) based on your expertise. Building credibility should be done simultaneously by authoring an eBook and/or developing your own product. You could then have other affiliates market your products! Throw in some social marketing buzz, and you should be able to create your own success.

    Good luck.

There are a lot of people who market fitness, but there are even more people interested in it. I would say blogging would be a good way to go because you can build a following that way.

First of all, welcome to the forum! It's nice to have you among us.

To get started, I think you should setup a Wordpress blog, then write about your favorite niche (in this case the fitness). Beside, you could add some affiliate stuff along by promoting Clickbank or Amazon products. Like that you will be able to learn about the process of affiliate marketing step-by-step. Maybe at the end you won't become a millionnaire overnight but after a while, if your blog is good enough and it has a sufficient traffic & audience, you could always sell it via DigitalPoint or Flippa. Don't forget to create also a Facebook page for your blog, and pay serious attention to the branding side. You should have a 'brand' of your own, that's how people come to you.

Good luck! Wish you all the best!

The health/fitness niche is highly profitable, and the fact you have a passion for it is great. Your site should contain both product reviews and articles on stuff related to your niche. You will get traffic from both. In addition to promoting e-books from Clickbank, you should check out the Pepperjam affiliate network (Pepperjam Network). It has a lot of "As Seen on TV" products on there like P90X. I think you'll really like it.

    Good luck,
    Joey

Thanks for the replies and help everyone, I can already tell that I am going to like this forum a lot. I have created a WordPress account and am currently familiarizing myself with it, seems like pretty easy stuff (guess it helps that I have experience in web design).

I'm soaking up everything that I can, been reading for the last couple of days from when I wake up to when I go to sleep. Right now I'm reading some books on Affiliate Marketing and SEO. Also going to be purchasing a .com domain soon once I come up with enough content to populate the site. Can't wait to see how things are going to work out!

If you want to become successful in fitness niche, you should better spot what online places people are gathering at. Not only the buyers, but other fitness professionals also. Especially, the ones who are marketing their products, their brands, themselves online.

It's definitely a great idea to work in a niche that you know, especially when starting out. It will keep you motivated as you build up your business because it will take time to get it off the ground.

Fitness is a very competitive niche but people are always going to be interested in looking after their bodies - so if you can find a targeted sub niche within it you could be onto something.

Perseverance is key in the beginning. Plenty of great tips/advice on the forum so happy reading and to your success

There is a whole load of information out there on fitness and gaining muscle mass... but a great deal of it is information put out my marketers who don't know a lot about the subject. As you have specialist knowledge, not only does it give you more credibility but you can provide better quality information.

Do some research and see what's out there already- is there a gap you can exploit or can you bring something new?
