Paypal Currency Convert?

Damn I hate paypal sometimes....

Anyone know how to CHANGE the currency of your paypal balance?

It seems there is no way to actually convert the currency of your account balance. I'm not talking about the "currency converter" which is simply their calculator, if you want to work out what you'll get from what currency if converted.

I need to convert from USD to pounds, so that I can add balance to my paypal access card.

Anyone know??

Thanks for any help!

If you need to do anything in paypal and don't know how, simply ask for their help.
I asked and this is what I got.

How do I add a new currency to my PayPal balance?

Here's how you can add a new currency to your PayPal balance:
    • Log in to your PayPal account
    • Click Profile
    • Click Currency Balances
    • Select your new currency from the drop-down list and click Add Currency

Thanks for your help, but I have searched paypal's help section, and that's not what im asking...

I wouldn't be asking here if it was that easily found.

Then obviously I have misunderstood you. I thought you said you want to have another main currency for your account. Is that right?

I have mine set up with US and AU dollars and I can change one to the other and then transfer it to wherever it needs to go.
Maybe ring them and ask for their help direct.

    Thanks for your help Laurence.

all my balance is in USD, but I need some balance in GBP.

There seems no way of transferring some balance to GBP, although I swear I used
to be able to do it easily.

Here's what I see on my currency converter screen, which also says I can create a "destination currency" which will modify the currency of incoming payments. But this is completely wrong, as there is no such feature or ability from what I have looked at.

    see image here

It's like they just removed the functionality to do this...

    Don't know, it's a bit annoying...

I really do recommend you ringing them. I say that because my screen is different to yours.
The left side is the same but the right side I have where I can convert money currency from the one to the other which is what I thought you wanted to do.

I have learned that for some reason Paypal does things differently in different countries because I know my set up is different to people in the US.
I was right in what I thought you wanted but your screen isn't doing what it should.

    1. Login to your Paypal account.

    2. In the 'Overview' section of your account, click the 'Currency Converter' link near the top right of the page.

When the link opens you will see that the Currency Converter is now called 'Currency Exchange.'

    3. Enter the amount you want to convert from the funds in your account in the 'From' section. (You can convert all or part.)

    4. Select the currency you want to convert to from the pulldown menu in the 'To' section.

    5. Click 'Calculate'

    6. Click 'Review Exchange'

    7. Click 'Convert' once the review exchange window opens.

(I'm not exactly sure if it says 'Convert Funds' or Accept, or whatever, so you're on your own with the last step.)

Paypal now does the whole process in that 'Currency Exchange' widget box. You have to click the 'Review Exchange' and then the button under the last option on the page that opens. (The one I can't remember what it's called.)

Once you accept the conversion you will see it show up in your account and you can then withdraw the money in the funds you specified in the 'To' box.
