Drat! My Dog Has Fleas!

...and by "dog," I'm referring to my crappy 4-yr.old website, vegetarianvitaminsguide dot com. I've tried monetizing this dog from day 1: It was initially an auto-blog (and still has several hundred back-end posts of ebay and amazon product links that came from WP-Mage. Later, I tried to build a list by giving away a free e-book on "The 7 Secrets Every Vegetarian Must Know!"-- I used a large ad block on the homepage but I never had any takers. In time, I took down my promotions for list building and decided to try my hand at selling products. I signed up for a drop-ship program and added a vitamin store promoting those products. My site currently ranks in the top 3 for a handful of highly-trafficked broad keyword searches such as 'vegetarian vitamins' and 'vitamins for vegetarians'. I get between 300 and 400 uniques daily but nobody buys anything. Nothing. Nada. Zip. I can't sell vitamins... and even with a FREE e-book on vegetarian secrets or 1,000 veggie recipes, I can't even GIVE it away for the price of a name and an email. Ladies and Gents, I introduce you to me: the Charlie Brown of Internet Marketing. And a tip: Never build an affiliate site that sells a product you can buy for the same or less anywhere else.

So, we've established that no one wants to buy anything from my site... and no one wants free information from my site... and even though I get 300-400 visitors daily, with no sales, the site will not likely garner any interest from buyers on Flippa either since the total revenue it generates is approx. $2 a month via EPN. I truly birthed a stinky dog with fleas! Whaddya think... should I just let this domain expire into obscurity or should I continue to put time and money into this digital turd, hoping and waiting for the angels of mercy to install a trojan on my server and put my site out of its misery once and for all.
