Brian does have a good point. You will have more backlinks by submitting to different directories. Just make sure they aren't the exact same article on every site - make a few changes each time you submit to a different site.

I've been using article marketing for a long time. I personally like to post one of my articles to my own website first, wait a few days, then distribute it. One of the things I'm learning about and checking out now is unique article distribution.

I'll have to get back to the forum and let everyone know if this makes a difference. I'm hoping that by using a service to distribute my articles as unique each time, I'll be avoiding duplicate content penalties and improving the number of in-bound links to my website.

I only bother with EZA.

I think it is better if you keep a balance.
At times submit an article only in ezinearticles while sometimes you should submit to both ezinearticles and a few other directories.
But dont go too far and start submitting to hundreds of directories as it could be harmful in the long run.

Every few days, google should be seeing some unique content related to your site. This way you wont have to write that many articles and will get better results and better rankings.

This is what has been consistently driving traffic to my sites:

1 - Write an article and place it on your site

2 - Write new article that covers the same keyword phrase as your first article and submit it to ezinearticles.com

3 - Write new article that covers the same keyword phrase as your first 2 articles and submit it to associatedcontent.com. I am seeing more of their articles rank high in the search engines and you can get paid with the articles you submit to them.

4 - Take the article you wrote and submitted to associatedcontent.com and spin it into 30 (no more then 50) different variations and then use those articles as submissions to the other top article directories. Additionally, you can use these spun articles as an answer for yahoo Answers, to start a squidoo lens, on a word press blog, on a blogger blog, in a forum posting (as appropriate), as a video article...etc

One note regarding the article title - It is the last thing I modify if I even modify it at all. The content between all of the articles needs to be different (make that should be different) but I advocate in keeping your article title the same because personally, I believe it is solely responsible for high placement in the search engines when combined with the authority status sites such as Ezinearticles.com and AssociatedContent.com have with Google.
