Why am I getting a poor conversion rate?

Hi everyone :-)

I need a review of a gig I am offering to try and analyse why I am getting a poor conversion from hits to sales. This is a genuine request and not some devious method to get more hits/sales to my gig. That said and hoping I'm not breaking any Forum rules, I will continue.

I own a Twitter Profile in the SEO niche which I have built over 20,000 Followers over a long period of time. Because they are mainly real people, every time I tweet a message with a link I get between 25 to 50 click thru's. So with this in mind, I decided to offer a service to tweet Followers SEO related links for a small price in the form of a gig. This I feel would obviously benefit those who purchased the gig and obviously make me a small income. The bottom line is that I have had over the past 3 months 3,080 views/hits to the gig and 3 sales, one being a repeat order. I would say that this is a poor conversion rate - agree?

What I would like is for Forum members to go view the gig and come back with your thoughts about what I am offering and possibly tell me what you think is preventing better sales. I'm no expert on copy writing, so maybe my sales pitch is wrong and not clear.

The link to my gig is I will tweet your Blog or Website up-dates for a month to my 20000 $17 | SEO Services which I hope is allowed to be mentioned. As stated, this is a genuine ask for help and not to encourage further sales.

Many thanks,
Koolsteve

    Hm.. 3080 hits..and 3 sales..

About a 1% conversion rate I see? Isn't that normally the basic when going from visitors to sales?

Also you have to consider how people handle money. If they know about sites such as those, then they definitely know about fiverr as well. So they will try to get as much bang for their buck as possible. Maybe you could try to offer this same gig for a bit less? Or providing more @ $17?

Sort of include a Free Added Bonus - is that what you are suggesting?

I have looked for similar on Fiverr and other similar sites and could not find this type of service. I went for $17 because in relation to other gigs, the potential tweets per month are a lot more than other gigs.

Many thanks for your input which will be very helpful.

Yeah, maybe like some added bonus that can be tied into it. I guess you can almost liken them to shoppers who are trying to look for the best deal possible. Maybe that could be a good start? They could be thinking..'what kind of traffic is this?' 'will they buy?'

Just some things that I were thinking about anyway. I guess maybe an added bonus would be awesome. It seems you're not short on traffic, so it never hurts to test, track and tweak!

Yes UMS it is 0.1% and as you say - very low!

natethegreat7037 - I do have another gig at getmyrank: I will Tweet your message to my 20000+ Genuine SEO & Internet Marke $7 | SEO Services

What if I gave this as a free added bonus to new customers? Do you think that could help with upping the conversion rate?

Part of the challenge with these type of offers is that they are flooded all over the market. I have one or two on Fiverr myself. I call it bonus money for SEO or graphics.

The challenge is that unless you really, really, really stick out then you will have challenges getting this gig to work.

I have 62,000 followers on my main Twitter account. I have only had a few bites over tweet (Note: I have another account with 27,000 followers that I use more on Fiverr).

I agree with previous comments to sweeten the pot.

The other thing you could do with that many followers is to start using it for list-building. Direct people to a free offer and then have this service in your auto-responder.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks Andy for some good info. Like the list-building suggestion. I have had over 90 gigs on my other fiverr account - mainly advertising it on Twitter. Just this one needs some refining.

    Best regards,

I've now up-dated the details to include:

    MONEY BACK GUARANTEE
If at the end of the one month campaign you are not satisfied with the results for any reason, I will return your payment in full.

I feel this will show potential buyers my commitment to their success and that if they did not get a good return then they loose nothing by getting their money back.

    Thoughts?

If you're going to use a graphic, then use one that clearly
      telegraphs what you're offering.

Hint: Some guys and gals standing on top of corporate
buildings with a graph in the background... is not even
      close.

Next, your most crucial first sentence is currently focused
      on you:

"I have over 20,000 Twitter Followers"

Start off your ad by talking about the visitor.

The first paragraph is also too long which makes it harder
      to read.

Use short, focused sentences and split them up instead
so people can read through your add more easily.

The key benefit you're giving them is 100's of visitors
      - or their money back. So why not feature that more
prominently and earlier on in the ad?

Also, take a look at similar offers in the same site to
make sure that your service is actually being bought
right now through the same channel.

      Dedicated to mutual success,

      Shaun

I agree with Shaun and would add that you might want to focus on the results that someone might expect from purchasing your gig.

"Super Fast Indexing And Instant Traffic All Month Long" or something like that maybe. Of course, twitter traffic isn't really known for being high converting but car makers rarely advertise "pending recall on gas line known to leak and turn you into a flaming jugerrnaut!!! No extra charge!"
