Well here are some more tips that generate very quick and good amount of traffic:

Videos Video sites like YouTube and Google Video get enormous amounts of traffic (and also rank highly in the search engines).
You can easily create a video by turning your article into a powerpoint presentation and then recording your screen as you talk through the article.
If you don't have MS Office to create a powerpoint, try a free alternative at OpenOffice.org and if you don't have Camtasia, grab a free alternative at CamStudio.org
Take your video and submit it to multiple video directories (for free) using the service at TubeMogul.com
Don't forget to put your keywords in the title and also put the URL of your Squidoo page in the description box.

Submit Your Slide Show You can take your powerpoint presentation you created and submit it to SlideShare.net
Be sure to include a link to your Squidoo page in the presentation and a call to action at the end to get people to visit.

Audio and Podcasts
You can take the audio from your video recording and upload it to different podcast sites like PodcastDirectory.org, PodcastingNews.com, PodcastAlley.com

I'm intrigued to see whether this works for you. Since you're selling hypnosis products people may think this is some kind of hypnosis. Not sure how well it would work for other products. I'd also be interested to see whether YouTube lets you have hundreds of practically identical videos.

Yep it ceratainly will be interesting. When I submit the others will do separate accounts with only 10 vids on each. The traffic from these 39 already started to pour in over night which is hopeful.

I've never used You Tube for promoting products myself, but it's on my TO DO LIST.

I am going to do the other 700+ slightly different. I am going to take a snapshot of the sales page and include it, but still keeping the video to around 20 seconds.

Did anyone spot my mistake that is in each video?

Yep I will get a template together (maybe like the following) for the new videos. I was thinking.

Title - 5 seconds
Page snapshot - 5 seconds

Good effort Burtie, I think people are crazy not to use video hosting sites to market their products and services. I have been for 18 months now and found it to be the easiest and fastest way to send traffic to a website.

The call to action "Click The Link On The Left" is a little confusing since the link is on the right of the video. Will be effecting your CTR a little. I presume you ment on the left of the description box, or did you forget your L's and R's?

There are still quite a lot of things that can be done to make your videos on Youtube much better. Good thing you are taking action, nows the time to improve.

1. Use some images... Find some copyright restriction free images and use them in your PPT presentations. Ideally three... for 3 seconds each

2. Use sexy backgrounds... And white text and black B/G doesn't make me want to click on the link

3. Use a little more text I'd say. At least put in one key benefit.

4. Insert the URL in the video... Learn subdomain redirection- its easy!

Thanks for sharing, I'm glad you are getting some traffic from them. It's such a simple concept, more people should be tapping into the potential of YouTube. I would agree though that adding a little more to the video would probably generate more views. Even just having teaser questions, like "Do you want to know how Hypnosis can __?" etc. just to give them more info, but only enough to get them really interested to visit your site.

Another great way is article marketing. Yes, groan...

I know, but its proven, tried and tested and gives long lasting traffic.
Especially if you write a winner article like Michael Cheney - "Attack of
the Killer Google Zombies". Try putting - attack of the killer google zombies
in Google!

737,000 sites returned from the search! Not only can that give you traffic
from the article, but you can kill the SEs as well!

Do your own research - Go to the Google AdWords keyword tool.
Play with the keywords and look for ones with consistent search volume.
Click add on each keyword you like the look of, to make a text file.

Take the keywords you have created and put them in Google and do a
'search'. You are looking for competitors who have in-bound links. You
will be surprised! Put inanchor:"my search phrase" in the search box. Bam..

Put those (the best ones) as your anchor text in your 'bio'! BAM....

I don't mean to be rude, but I don't see the value for these types of video. I am all for marketing, be it video or other media, but I am surprised the video's are still up. They provide nothing but click on my link, no content, no laugh. Am I missing something? Sure hate to see video sites filled with this type of content. Sure I'll get flamed now.

some of the most effective videos I've done (and I know many others who are following the same pattern) is 1-2 min with 1 tip and promotion of giveaway (either article, report or other video signup sheet) to help build list.

Another effective method is to simply review a product - how it worked for you, what it was like BEFORE and then AFTER using the product or method. Then highlight the link.

Thanks for taking the time to test this concept then post this. It looks like you're getting descent traffic with them.

Like some others above I'm surprised they haven't been pulled down. I've posted a few "thin" vids on YouTube in my time and they didn't get 4 days down the road like yours, which is why I started adding just a little more meat to mine. It'll be interesting to watch and see how it goes for you. As tommygadget very accurately points out the competition plays dirty!
