Do These Clickbank Numbers Suggest a Problem?

I know people frequently wonder if their Clickbank numbers are accurate. It's never been a big part of my business, but lately a couple of my sites have been getting more traffic and I'm wondering if I shouldn't be getting more CB orders.

Specifically, I'm looking at a site whose most recent CB analytics read:

Hop Count: 416
Hops Per Order Form Impression: 52
Order Form Impression Count: 8
Order Form Submit Count: 1

So, one sale out of more than 400 hops. I don't even know what the difference is between "hops per order form impression" and "order form impression count," but it seems like a lot of people are clicking on the order form without buying.

Are these numbers normal, or at least believable...or do they suggest something strange is going on?

Perfectly normal. But then maybe I've been in poor performing niches. I wouldn't say I'd be happy with those stats but they do seem to fit a number of niches I'm in.

You're getting 1 in 8 clicks look at the order form/sales page (relatively interested in buying) and then you're getting 1 in 8 (out of those) buying. I don't know the stats for conversion rates, in general, but it's telling you that the sales page that you are sending them to is converting at 1 in 8. Not bad, I'd say - around average.

Really depends on the niche and the means of promotion. I'm happy with that for hands-off sites.

Agreed- it's fine and like the other guy said, you need a larger sample size than that before you start tweaking anything.

400 hundred hops is way to small a sample size to be drawing any conclusions. Once you have a few thousand then you can look at your conversion rate and determine how you are doing.

Those numbers seem really low for me, but it depends on a lot of different things. A lot of people try and make money with ClickBank, do all the work, get traffic but they just don't seem to get conversions.

This is usually because their traffic isn't targeted (or targeted enough) or, that they are promoting the wrong product. There are TONS of products to promote on ClickBank, but you really need to find the right one if you want the most money out of the efforts you put in.

Definitely need a larger sample size before drawing any conclusion. I always go by a bigger sample size to a better picture of how I am doing.

The numbers are pretty normal. You need to consider the niche as well.

as others have stated, it all depends on the niche.

But the products I sell are selling 1 in every 25-30 hops. I have very targeted traffic and IMO, the sales pages I send them to are well made.

but that may just be the niche I am in.

  • Yea I'd say that looks normal. If you can get anything above a 1% conversion with Clickbank you are generally doing ok. It can be quite a tough business model to use because often people looking for information are looking for free resources rather than paying for it, whereas someone looking on Amazon is expecting to pay money.
