Reputable Software Creation Firms?

Hi Guys.

I'm well aware of websites like elance etc., where you can pay a programmer or even an agency to create software. But I was wondering are their any reputable possibly, nationally branded companies that do this? Think, the "WarriorForum" of software companies. Companies with a reputation of taking your outline and delivering the product who are trustworthy.

I understand this route may end up costing 10 to 20 times would I could pay a freelancer, but I still wanted to inquire.

    You would be surprised at how many of those firms started on scriptlance or elsewhere and you would also be surprised that some of them still work off of lance sites.

      Hmmm.. Interesting. Yea I'm sure huge websites like elance and odesk that gets crazy traffic, is going to have firms working off there.

      I just wonder if any Warriors can tell me some by name... Some that fellow big time warriors have used, and been delighted. I'm looking for the "Nike" and "Reeboks" of the industry... If they even exist.

    Okay I have used Software Development Company | Web Application Development Services | PHP, Java, .Net Software Developers | Oxagile, I was not happy. I like working with an individual not a corp id. The first thing I ask on scriptlance is do you farm out or are you a company.
    I have two projects listed on scriptlance right now and when I pick, I expect one or maybe a couple of people to do it only. I am always in contact with them, they always send me updates. I can email anytime no matter how many times. My terms are always till I'm please (I am really not to hard to pls as long as the description fits the software)

    But anyways I have used the ones in the link. Just don't cotton to it is all.

    It depends on several factors....

    What OS will your app run on? Windows? Linux? iOS?

    What type of app is it? Mobile? Desktop? Web?

    Do you have a detailed design document describing the program, what it will do, what it will look like, etc.?

    What is your budget?

    Those are just a few off the top of my head.......

    Once you answer those, it will be easier to guide you to the best resource.....

    Hey Rich,

    It's really more of a general inquiry. But, it would likely be, Windows, Desktop Software that accesses the web, I would have a detailed outline.. As far as budget, I guess I'd say anywhere from 5 to 20k tops...

    Mind you, this is not something I'm ready to do now, but just inquiring out of interest for the future.

    Some reason, my mind wants to tell me I'd trust a huge firm with large portfolio and track record, vs even the highest reputable freelancer on odesk.

    So if I did have those type of funds one day, I'd want to know my options of where to go with it.

    And I will give you guys a thanks soon as the site is displaying pictures properly.
