Massive traffic is not permitted ! Why?

A few day ago, i intended to register a hosting account at BlueHost. When i was chatting with the representative, she said that for each account, the traffic must be maximum with 6,000 visitors / day irrespective of how many site we own, otherwise the account will get suspended.

Supposing i want to make money with adsense, i want to have at least 200 sites. This means that each site must have maximum 30 visitors / day. This can decrease the revenue from Adsense.

Dear following warriors, how do you think about this nuisance?

    Hi Baokhau,

which hosting package are you purchasing from BlueHost.

They may only offer a certain amount of bandwidth, meaning your site can only withstand a certain number of visitors before crashing.

Please give us some more information on the hosting package and what it provides.

Why put up with those restrictions? Go with Hostgator.

If you have blogs, use a caching plugin like WP Super Cache. That helps a lot on the bandwidth problem. All hosts will have a limit on the bandwidth you can use, but Bluehosts sounds really restrictive. I'd go with a shared hosting plan and upgrade if you find that you need to.

Having 6,000 visitors a day is a nice problem. If you get to that point quickly, create a WSO and use that revenue to upgrade your account. I've been with Bluehost for 4 years and love them. Conversely, words simply cannot describe how much I loathe HostGator. (I'd sooner buy stock in Enron than have anything to do with them ever again). One of my domains at BlueHost gets 400 visitors a day but total visitors across all accounts at Bluehost are less than 6,000. Again, I think you'll find that getting 6,000 daily visitors on one domain is a whole lot harder than upgrading your account (of finding a new host to accommodate your traffic needs). Good luck.

Shared hosting accounts were never meant to handle large volumes of traffic. If you don't want to go the VPS or dedicated route, you can always add accounts. If BH allows you 6K visitors a month, 10 accounts would let you run 60K visitors for around $100/mo - still less than most dedicated plans.

I suggest to use a dedicated server for hosting because if you have 6000+ visitors then shared servers will slow down. Worse scenario is that your account will be suspended. Second aspect is that Google is testing the download speed of your sites and if it's not fast enough you will loose your ranking.
