I've only been active on the forum here for around six months - and this week I have seen three of the WSOs I bought in that time make a reappearance.

Now I am not necessarily against this (is that normal can anyone tell me? the recurrance that is, not me being ambivalent about it) BUt it raises questions in my mind.

My issue is, that I bought these WSos understanding that the price was to go up, the offer was to be taken up or i may never see it again, blah blah blah... But obviously not, when they are back this week with the same 'buy now or you may never get it at this price point again' type push (at the same price they were when I bought them months ago!!).

Are any of these squeeze pages to actually be believed, or are we (WSO buyers) just falling prey to the tricks we are trying to learn.

As I said, I am not against the three WSOs reappearing. I bought a lot of WSOs since I joined.. so I am glad the temptation isn't there this week! I'm just wondering if in future I can ignore the hype and get them the second or third time round...

Yes, ignore the hype. Fake scarcity is used a lot. I never pay any attention to it at all. If I want the WSO, I buy it, but I don't buy it because they say that it will never be offered again at this price or it's disappearing in 24 hrs, or blah blah blah.

The problem is that sometime people are serious about pulling the WSO, so if you don't buy it you lose your chance. Here's another radical idea, though. How about you ignore the hype just just don't buy. Period.

If only I could take my own advice!

LOL! Yeah I get you! That's a good (rhetorical) question!
The answer is that at the time I was young and needed the money..

No, seriously - I was just new to this whole thing and went a bit crazy believing all the hype. It was just so weird seeing those WSOs cropping up again and being touted as the best thing since sliced bread (which would be a toaster?).

The advice to just buy the ones I need is a good one, and now I have more sense... I hope!

As previously stated, some hype the scarcity and then don't follow through with it. While others may intend to limit the number of purchases, but then decide they haven't received enough to pull it from the market.

I've not run a single WSO in the 5 1/2 years I've been here. I've had several times I wanted to, but I let myself pursue other ventures instead. Mostly because my products are seldom of direct interest to marketers. If I were offering something I thought Marketers would want (a marketing product/course or a product they could sell) I would almost certainly run a WSO. But that's not what most of what I do is centered on.

This probably isn't the case, but did you verify it's not the same thread that hasn't been deleted that just got bumped up by someone posting to it?

Some WSOs are still in there 2 years after they were posted, and occasionally get a bump from someone posting to them, which brings them back to the top of the list. There are currently 397 pages of WSO available for me to look through, and at a quick glance I found several dated 2008 with last posts being in 2011.

The WSO section doesn't work that way. You have to pay to bump a thread to the top again.

    Dave,

If you see a WSO that exceeds the initial stated sales or time limits and is bumped again later, please report it. We close offers and occasionally hand out bans for sellers doing that.

Hey Scott - no they weren't bumped. I only found them because of emails from marketers whose lists i am on telling me all about these amazing new products that I should check ouT!

BTW - Nice to see someone who treats their staff so well.. I presume your signature is on paid holidays?! :-)
