Double exit pop-ups. Yae or Nay?

Once again I have been looking through the most popular sales pages on clickbank and every single one of them had two exit pop-ups.

As a buyer I think this would be very frustrating, what are your opinions this.

If you're interested, the first pop-up was commonly a $10 discount, and the second was an op-in form for a freebie.

They are very frustrating, but at the end of the day it depends on how well they work / convert with your visitors.

Yea if marketing to unique visitors nay or waste of time if marketing to those who knows all this but if you have killer products in a pop up give it a go. But you may risk loosing your visitor.

I hate that every one of those sales pages has just one pop-up, now they have two? What do they need two for? "Oh, we see you're serious about leaving, PLEASE TAKE THIS GREAT DEAL! If I don't sell this product I'll have to eat cat food today!" I doubt they convert. I'm sure the one pop-up converts, but the second one probably just irritates people.

    Single exit pop-ups: nay.

    Double exit pop-ups: nay nay.

Huge numbers of potential customers think that, too. Without the exit pop-ups, some of those people will return to a site in future. With them ... not so much.

I can live with the single exit pop-ups. In fact, I like to refresh the page just to see if there's a discount offered. Double exit pop-ups are too much for me. I would like to hear from someone who's used them to see how well they work.

I don't know any customer who would appreciate double exit pop ups - they are just ANNOYING. Even one can be frustrating, but one understands there is often a need for it. Two, though, are just too much. I hope it is a coincidence how the most sales page is filled with pages with double exit pop ups.

If I go to any site and there is ONE pop-up, I close the window straight away without even looking at any content .. hate the things !

I get sort of annoyed with a pop-up opt when I first get to a website. I get really annoyed when I can't leave a site, no matter how awesome it may be.

I think in general, real people, real customers, don't like that stuff. It makes you look desperate, and like a "marketer".

Don't convert people out of annoyance. Convert them because they can't wait to hear more from you.

I debating whether to use one now, the thing I offer would be a 'lite' version of the ebook, i'm not even sure if I should be bothering with video/ video testimonials. Products kind of in the MMO niche.

          When I see a pop-up:

          1. I close the window immediately without looking at the ad.
          2. If they somehow trick me into looking at the ad, I would refuse the sale simply because of the pop-up even if I did want what they were selling.

Any site that tries to slam me over the head to get at my wallet will lose my patronage.

Simply put "Nay", but as someone mentioned before, it is all about how well it converts your traffic into sales.

I despise the pop ups when trying to leave. Perhaps some marketers use them because their stats say they work, but I find it hard to believe their customers appreciate them.
